Today, we face Storrington FC at home, a team that has impressed this season following their promotion They’ve made an immediate impact in this division, and credit must be given to them for the progress they’ve shown I remember when we played them in a preseason friendly a couple of summers ago, and even back then, you could see the signs of a well-coached, competitive side. With the management they have in place, it’s no surprise they’re right back in our league, and it’s great to see them performing so well.
Coming off the back of our huge win against Chessington, it’s important to remember that while that result was massive, the focus must be on consistency It’s not just about having one great performance, it’s about maintaining that level across every game Today, we cannot afford to drop our standards – Storrington will make it tough for us, and we must be ready for the battle Storrington play an organized, disciplined game and are capable of being very dangerous on the counter They are well-drilled in their defensive shape, and their attacking players have the ability to create moments of magic We need to ensure that we manage their threats effectively, stay compact, and keep our concentration levels high We can’t afford to give them any easy chances or space to exploit.
We know that this will be a challenge, and today’s performance will require the same focus, intensity, and team spirit we ’ ve shown recently. If we ’ re at our best, we ’ ve got every chance of coming out on top, but it will take every player giving 100% commitment from the first whistle to the last

Storrington FC, these days known as the Swans, was first formed way back in 1883 when the first ever Sussex Football league was formed. Of course at this time, the team would have been men only and would have continued like this right through to 1977 when Storrington Vipers was formed to provide training and access to football for children under 16. Over the years both sides of the club, both Swans and Vipers have continued, with the support from amazing volunteers and the wider community.
In 2017 the Swans and the Vipers combined creating Storrington Community Football Club. As our name implies, we strive to create wider links within our community and have good relationships with surrounding schools, businesses and other football clubs. We provide access to football to all children of all age, gender and nationality. Our younger cohort hosts over 200 children from the ages 6-16 and this is only possible with the help our our amazing team of volunteers, all working within and complying to FA guidelines and rules.
We are always looking for new volunteers and sponsors so that we can constantly strive for the best access to football for all those who want it. We are not a win at all costs club. Whilst we encourage every child, person to play and be their best, we are keen to strike a healthy balance between being competitive, but also giving all children the opportunity to play and develop at their own pace.
