The second mode by which a Lodge may be dissol;ved is by, a voluntary surrender of its warrant. This must be by the act of a majority of the members, and at a communication especially called for that purpose. But it has been held that tIle Master must concur in this surrender; for, if he does not, being the custodian of the instrument, it cannot be taken from him, except upon trial and conviction ofa competent offence before the Grand Lodge. As the warrant of constitution is so important at. instrulnent, being the evidence of the legality of the Lodge, it is essentially necessary that it should be present and open to tIle inspection of all the members and visitors at ~ach communication of the Lodge.
