The number of candidates raised to the degree of Master Mason as a result of the Chance to Advance Program during the 2005 Grand Lodge Years is not available because the reports of class raisings on a district basis are not forwarded to the Grand Lodge. It is recommended that the Grand Lodge institute a method to obtain this information from the District Deputy Grand Masters and Grand Lecturers who should be in attendance at C2A Classes. If this is not possible we would recommend that the lodge secretaries have a line entry for chance to advance raisings on their annual report. It is further recommended that chance to advance classes have a minimum of ten candidates. Growth and Expansion We continue to recommend that a review of our membership and location of lodges throughout the state needs to be made to determine those areas where we have low membership penetration and the need for a physical lodge to provide for the long term expansion of our fraternity. With the migration and growth of our population we have seen large areas of our communities grow where there are no Masonic Lodge and other appendant bodies, i.e. Chesterfield, Mo. We would again recommend that a committee be established at the Grand Lodge Level to determine geographically where our members live and the lodges that are serving them. A suggested method of doing this would be zip code analysis of our membership data base compared with government population statistics. This would provide us with an insight into how population migration has impacted our fraternity and how we can improve and plan for our future growth in the following area: • Potential locations for new lodges • Information that would be beneficial for lodges moving from low potential neighborhoods and relocating to an area needing a Masonic presence. • Information to be used by lodges for recruiting potential members from those areas of low penetration. • By providing us with information to use in determining the feasibility of two or more lodges merging for the benefit of our fraternity. Lodge mergers must be done to strengthen our fraternity and not for the
