Remembering the fallen Dozens attended a special service in South Molton Pannier Market on Remembrance Sunday, November 14th (pictures this page).

Led by the Reverend Michael Grandey, it was held in the market building this year rather than at St Mary Magdalene church, so that more people could attend while there is scaffolding up in the church. Last year public ceremonies couldn’t happen due to Covid restrictions.

Acts of remembrance took place across North Devon and Exmoor, with many local schools taking part. Pupils from Chulmleigh College laid a wreath at the town’s war memorial, Kings Nympton Primary School and Woodlands Pre-School took their youngest children to St James Church in the village, and students at West Buckland School took part in a ceremony that included Army Cadets.
