From costumes and cookies to crafts, Halloween has a special way of sparking creativity. And for Southlake’s resident influencer Macy Blackwell, it’s become more than just a favorite season — it’s a career. What began with a rocking witch in her childhood living room has grown into a social media empire that reaches millions. Now crowned the “Halloween Queen,” Macy brings her love of the spooky season to life through elaborate displays, creative DIYs and festive parties that remind us how powerful traditions, and a little imagination, can be in shaping memories that last a lifetime.

October in Southlake is all about moments like these. From pumpkin-spiced everything to porch perfect decorations, it’s a season that invites both nostalgia and new experiences. And while Macy reigns over Halloween, there’s another local legend stealing the spotlight come festival time — Spud the dachshund. With three straight Oktoberfest Wienerdog Race titles to his name, Spud is back to chase win number four. Powered by four short little legs and his loving family, Spud is what the Wilsons’ hope to hoist in celebration this Oktoberfest weekend.

This month’s issue is a celebration of the larger-than-life creativity of Halloween and the spirited traditions of Oktoberfest. Whether you’re stringing cobwebs across your porch, carving pumpkins with your kids, or raising a stein while cheering on the fastest pup in town, this month and this issue are for you.

Elite Care for Every Spine

North Texas Spine Surgeon Talks Medicine & Mission

What’s the first thing a patient should ask before spine surgery?

Whether they even need it. I tell every patient: Surgery is the last resort. My practice focuses on prevention and conservative care, and more than 90% of my patients improve without surgery — through things like physical therapy or lifestyle changes.

What sets your approach apart?

Spine care should never feel rushed or one-size-fits-all. My team and I take time to educate every patient, walking them through their options with clarity and compassion. I bring over 25 years of experience as a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon, including years treating elite athletes and serving as a medical consultant to teams like the Phoenix Suns, San Francisco Giants and Arizona State. That background taught me to prioritize precision, performance and recovery.

How quickly can someone expect to recover from spinal surgery?

Thanks to minimally invasive techniques, most of my patients are walking the same day and home within 24 hours. Many are back to work within a week, depending on their job.

What’s the difference between disc replacement and spinal fusion?

Disc replacement allows for natural movement, while fusion restricts it. I’ll always favor preserving mobility when possible — your spine was designed to move, and modern technology helps us honor that design.

How can people protect their spines long-term?

You can’t change your genetics, but you can change your habits. Exercise, nutrition, physical therapy, avoiding smoking — these all play a huge role in preventing future spine issues. It’s never too early to start taking care of your back.

Halloween Queen

MACY BLACKWELL’S LOVE OF SPOOKY SEASON BIRTHED A SOCIAL MEDIA EMPIRE

Every October, a witch came to life in Macy Blackwell’s childhood home.

Not the broomstick-flying, spell-casting kind, but a plastic one with glowing green eyes and a laugh that could make your skin crawl. She rocked back and forth in the corner of the living room, cackling into the night like she knew exactly when you’d turn the lights out.

Most kids would’ve begged their parents to hide the thing in the attic. Macy? She loved it. The witch became a fixture of her Halloween memories, equal parts creepy and comforting, carving out a permanent place in her imagination.

Years later, her mom gifted her the same decoration for her birthday — a move that might sound cruel if you didn’t know Macy.

“It’s my favorite birthday gift of all time,” she says.

That small, glowing figure embodied the magic of Macy’s childhood Halloweens, a reminder of the sights, sounds and smells that made the season unforgettable. For Halloween in Indiana wasn’t just a night – it was an event.

“My grandparents would come over and we’d always have soups, sandwiches and appetizers,” Macy recalls. “We would run out to hit a few houses, come back home to make a plate and then head back out with our friends and neighbors. My mom would always put on a ‘spooky sounds’ CD and enjoy scaring the kids as she passed out candy. I can still smell the pumpkin candle she would have burning.”

Those early nights — equal parts cozy and spine-tingling — became the blueprint Macy carried into adulthood.

By the time she and her husband moved to Southlake, a place where homes (and holiday displays) are larger than life, she was ready to scale up her Halloween vision. The nostalgia remained, but now she had the space and the inspiration to make it bigger and bolder, drawing from pumpkin patches, Disneyland’s spooky displays and seasonal festivals. Pinterest boards served as her creative safety net whenever she needed a spark.

Her Southlake neighborhood, known for spirited decor and friendly one-upmanship, became the perfect stage. She often would cruise past dazzling displays, feel inspired by what she saw, then make a late-night Home Depot run for one more skeleton or fog machine to top off her own everexpanding display.

“My favorite decorations are sentimental items,” Macy says. “I love having something no one else has and being able to customize it to my design preference. Studies show you’re more likely to love something when you make it yourself.”

In 2019, Macy was creating content for her family — two daughters, Lux and Thea, and husband Cory — but when she shared her DIY Halloween decor online, something clicked. She quickly earned the unofficial crown of “Queen of Halloween.” Her social media presence exploded. Today, she boasts more than 4 million followers across platforms. Her approach to DIY remains grounded and attainable. She loves mixing thrift-store finds — vintage clocks, ee rie oil paintings, antique dishes — with things you already have at home, such as candles, branches from the yard or stacks of old books. Candy corn, orange M&Ms and caramel apples become décor that’s budget-friendly, festive and edible.

“Once you pull together some of these pieces, add those final touches like cobwebs, a decorative skull, a crow or some faux spiders,” she says. “But if you think of the core elements that make up the fall and Halloween season, you’ll realize you can find most of those items in your own house.”

These days, Macy’s seasonal investments are on another scale entirely. She estimates she spends six figures annually on Halloween, between massive décor setups and an elaborate annual party. There’s “no budget” once fall arrives, and she even rents a specialized storage unit to house oversized skeletons and Christmas trees.

But despite the spectacle, she keeps her content accessible. She still posts Dollar Tree DIY tutorials and simple recipes that busy parents can recreate. And though her skeleton-suit-and-heels outfits are made for the camera, she’s candid about the behind-the-scenes reality.

“If the cameras aren’t on, you’ll find me decorating in sweatpants with no makeup and a messy bun,” she says. “But if we’re filming, you can bet I will be on a ladder tying pumpkins onto my porch garland in a skeleton suit and heels. At first, I got some funny looks from the neighbors, but I think they are used to me now.”

came primarily from affiliate links — sharing products she loved and earning a small commission when followers purchased them. It was a way to monetize her growing social media presence without compromising the approachable, relatable style that had drawn her audience in the first place.

As her following swelled, Macy’s business model evolved. Today, brand partnerships make up the majority of her income, a testament to her influence and savvy. She collaborates with home décor brands, fashion lines and lifestyle companies, carefully selecting partnerships that align with her aesthetic and her audience’s values. Rather than pushing products, she focuses on storytelling — showing how a seasonal piece or everyday item can enhance life in a real, lived-in home.

Macy has also diversified beyond Halloween. While fall remains her signature season, she leverages other peak moments throughout the year — from Valentine’s Day and spring entertaining to back-to-school and the Super Bowl. Each seasonal pivot allows her to showcase her signature DIY flair, easy recipes and décor skills in a new context, keeping her audience engaged and broadening her business’s reach.

This strategy has allowed Macy to turn her creative passion into a sustainable enterprise. By blending highly visual, shareable content with targeted partnerships and strategic seasonal timing, she’s built a business that thrives

encers often chase extravagance, Macy’s everyday lifestyle content reminds her audience that the best memories come from a mix of creativity and simplicity.

That balance is what allows her brand to thrive beyond seasonal spikes. When Halloween decorations come down, her followers don’t go anywhere. They stick around for the recipes, the styling tips, the relatable chaos of family life and, of course, the promise that come September, she’ll be back in full fall force.

But in Southlake, where “over-the-top” is almost the norm, Macy also thrives. The town’s festive competition doesn’t intimidate her; it motivates her. She even admits her family’s 2023 house hunt revolved partly around which property would best showcase her decorations.

“When house hunting in 2023, one of the big things I thought about was how my Halloween decorations would look in the house, and where I was going to put my Christmas trees,” she says. “It was such a tough choice. I think we looked at eight houses before we found the right one.”

And she doesn’t just decorate — she entertains. Her adults-only Halloween parties, complete with two bars, a light-up dance floor, a DJ, styled photo ops and themed bites, have become legendary among friends and neighbors.

“There are so many family-friendly fall events in the area, it was a blast to have one night where the adults could let loose and have a great time together,” she says.

From that rocking witch to Instagram fame, Macy has become a creative powerhouse. Her brand blends nostalgia, spectacle and accessibility, and she now runs a business that spans content, partnerships, events and storytelling.

And it all started in her childhood home in Indiana.

“I can still feel tingles in my spine when I think about Halloween afternoon prepping for the big night as a kid,” she says. “The excitement of those nights are what influenced me to recreate those memories for my own family during the season, and what I want to inspire others to create for their families as well.”

Dragons Care Hosts Annual Pink Out Tailgate Celebration

Carroll’s Dragon Nation knows how to rally — especially when it’s for a cause close to home.

On October 17, ahead of the Carroll vs. Northwest football game, the community will come together for the Dragons Care Pink Out Tailgate, a festive and heartfelt celebration supporting both Breast Cancer Awareness Month and the CISD staff who give so much year-round.

From 5 to 6:30 p.m. at Touchdown Alley on the west side of Dragon Stadium, guests will enjoy food, games, giveaways, photo ops and a healthy dose of community spirit. The free event also marks the finale of Dragons Care’s online auction (Oct. 2–17), which raises funds to provide grants for Carroll ISD teachers and staff facing unexpected hardships.

Founded by a group of parents and educators, Dragons Care began as a grassroots effort to quietly help those in the district navigating medical crises or financial emergencies. Today, it’s a fully-fledged nonprofit dedicated to supporting the well-being of CISD employees — and creating a culture of compassion on campus and beyond.

This year’s tailgate is presented by Wynne Moore and Associates, with generous contributions from Feedstore BBQ & More, HTeaO Southlake, Peace, Love & Little Donuts, Event Art Co. and Laura Lemonade Luxury Travel. Everyone is welcome to join this spirited show of support where pink meets pride, and every bite and bid helps a Dragon in need. Just remember to RSVP. TinyURL.com/ DCPinkOut

Scents Loved By CelebsLike Hilary Duff home STYLE

Scent is often the most overlooked element of home design—but it’s also one of the most powerful. Long used in upscale resorts, like The Westin’s White Tea, a signature scent can soften the mood of a space, spark a sense of nostalgia or create an instant feeling of calm. From zesty citrus that energizes a kitchen to warm vanilla that makes a bedroom feel cozy, scent isn’t just an accessory— it’s atmosphere.

In recent years, more people have begun treating home scent the way they treat lighting or music: as part of the emotional architecture of a space. Enter Below60, a home fragrance line of plug-in diffusers from Hilary Duff that embraces this mindset. With clean ingredients and natureinspired blends, the brand has earned a quiet following for its thoughtful approach to scent. Now available on QVC, the collection of scents includes an exclusive new fragrance, “Meet Me in the Garden,” a green and elegant fragrance that evokes backyard mornings and open windows.

For those who prefer a minimalist, natural aesthetic, Vitruvi’s Stone Diffuser is both functional and elegant. Designed to diffuse 100 percent pure essential oils, it doubles as decor and runs for up to 8 hours. With scents like Eucalyptus, Lavender and Cedarwood, Vitruvi is perfect for creating a serene atmosphere without overpowering a space.

If tech is more your style, smart diffusers like Pura are leading the charge. Paired with an app, the Pura allows you to schedule and customize premium fragrances like Volcano by Capri Blue, Grapefruit by NEST New York and Sweet Grace by Bridgewater Candle Company, offering a clean and elevated way to scent your home—down to the room and time of day.

Whether you lean toward crisp and energizing or soft and grounding, finding your home’s signature scent can be as transformative as rearranging the furniture—or better yet, lighting a candle and doing nothing at all.

THE FAST & THE FURRIEST

SPUD THE DASCHUND LOOKS TO EXTEND HIS WINNING WAYS

In the heart of Southlake, when the bratwursts are grilling and the polka music’s pumping, there’s one four-legged athlete who steals the show every Oktoberfest: Spud the Wienerdog.

This speedy dachshund has become a local legend, winning the Southlake Oktoberfest Wienerdog Race three years in a row. And now, as the 2025 event approaches, Spud and his team (otherwise known as Wilson family) are preparing to compete for an unprecedented fourth straight title.

Spud’s rise to stardom wasn’t planned. The first year, The Wilson’s entered him just for fun. No pressure, no expectations — just a cute dog in a silly race. But Spud had other plans. Upon being released at the starting line, the speedy daschund tore down the track like he’d been waiting his whole life for that moment. He won, to everyone’s surprise.

That first taste of glory turned into something more serious. In year two, the family upped their game.

“We trained him a little more seriously,” said Trent, Spud’s older brother and the all-important race-day releaser. “And he just dominated. It wasn’t even close.”

At the other end of the track was Dad Travis, arms wide and red ribbon in hand, ready to catch his champ.

“He’s just got this laser focus when he runs,” Travis said. “He locks onto me and just goes.”

By year three, Spud had a target on his back. The competition was tougher, the crowd was bigger, and the stakes higher. And this time at the starting line, Trent accidentally released him late.

started behind the rest.”

Spud wasn’t fazed. He dug in, sprinted down the track and — according to the naked eye — crossed the finish line neck-and-neck with another racer. With the close call and the slight delay, there were questions. Fortunately, Luke, the middle brother and family’s official videographer, had the evidence.

“I had it all on video,” he said. “We reviewed the footage in slow-mo, frame by frame. It showed Spud barely won.”

And just like that, win number three was in the books.

The whole operation is a family affair. Trent is in charge of the release — a job that requires precision , if not a little redemption this year. Travis is the catcher at the finish line, always holding the red ribbon that Spud is trained to fetch. Luke captures every second on camera, ready for instant replay if needed. And Mom Cheryl is the head cheerleader, waving her arms, shouting encouragement, and celebrating with unmatched enthusiasm.

Perhaps it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Spud is ath letically-gifted — athleticism runs deep in the Wilson family. Travis played college football at TCU, Trent is currently on the field at James Madison University and Luke has already committed to play at Oklahoma. Spud, with his stubby legs and unstoppable drive, is simply the next Wilson to excel at sports — just in a slightly smaller jersey.

Attending the event has become something of a family tradition for the Wilsons, who look forward to Southlake’s Oktoberfest every year. You’ll easily spot the three Wilson boys dressed in their Lederhosen, which are often worn by men at Oktoberfest and usually paired with suspend ers, checkered shirts and sometimes wool socks and alpine hats.

Spud’s success doesn’t come without training. Each year, in the months leading up to Oktoberfest, Spud starts his conditioning by swimming laps in the Wilsons’ backyard pool — low-impact cardio that keeps his dachshund joints happy. He also practices chasing and responding to a red

It doesn’t take Spud too long to get in race shape, transforming his offseason body into a lean running machine.

“He legitimately gets muscular once we start training him,” Luke said. “The first time we seriously started working out, it was crazy how toned he became.”

And yes, there’s tech involved. Spud wears a “doggy Fitbit” on his collar, which tracks his daily steps.

“We aim for 30,000 steps a day,” said Trent. “No less than 20,000. That’s our minimum.”

Morning walks with Trent are a daily routine, and between those and backyard zoomies, Spud usually has no issue reaching his number.

It’s a serious regimen for a dog who almost didn’t join the family in the first place. Cheryl, Luke, and Trent were all-in on getting a dachshund. Travis… not so much.

“I was the holdout,” he admitted. “But somehow we ended up with Spud anyway.”

Now?

“Spud is literally my best friend,” said Travis. “We’re pretty much inseparable at this point.”

It’s not just the races that make Spud special. It’s the bond he’s formed with his people. From reluctant dog dad to biggest fan, Travis has gone all-in. And with his family’s love, structure, and maybe a few extra treats, Spud has become more than just a race winner — he’s a hometown hero.

With this year’s Oktoberfest just around the corner, the family is prepping once again. Spud’s training is in full swing. The ribbon is ready. The pool remains open. The steps are being counted.

And the goal? Win number four.

“We’re going for it,” said Trent. “He’s got it in him.”

REWIRING LEADERSHIP WITH PAST WOMEN’S LUNCHEON SPEAKER ANNE CHOW

In 2021, Southlake Style had the privilege of welcoming Anne Chow, then-CEO of AT&T Business and the first woman – and woman of color - to hold such a position at the company, as the keynote speaker for our Women’s Luncheon. Known for her inclusive approach to leadership and her ability to inspire through candor and courage, Anne has left a lasting impression on our community. Since then, she’s embarked on a new chapter she calls “rewirement,” embracing a portfolio career as an author, advisor and thought leader. As we prepare for our upcoming luncheon, we caught up with Anne to see where this extraordinary talent’s journey has taken her.

SPEAKING AT THE WOMEN’S LUNCHEON… was such a privilege. The Southlake community is deeply engaged, and that day gave me the chance to connect with so many people. I was asked to talk about courageous leadership, which felt especially timely.

NOT EVERYONE AGREED WITH ME… and that’s good. I’ve always believed growth comes through discomfort and exposure to different perspectives. That luncheon created space for exactly that.

SINCE THE WOMEN’S LUNCHEON… I retired from AT&T in August 2022 after more than 32 years, including my last role as CEO of AT&T Business. But I don’t call it retirement — I call it rewirement. I had done all I had wanted to do — all I had dreamt of — at that company and in that industry. I just wanted to do something different.

TODAY, I’M LIVING WHAT I CALL… a “portfolio life.” I created my own LLC, The Rewired CEO, and now my days are filled with speaking, writing, serving on boards, advising companies and nonprofits, and championing leadership in all its forms. It’s a very different pace, sometimes even busier than corporate life, but it’s work I choose with intention.

AT ITS BEST, LEADERSHIP IS… not about titles, power or ego. It’s about people. True leadership is inclusive by definition. It means choosing to lead not only those who agree with you, but all people. Leadership is not an exclusionary practice. My passion lies in developing the next generation of leaders and encouraging practiced leadership — leadership demonstrated through actions, not just words.

AI IS ALREADY TRANSFORMING EVERY ASPECT… of business and daily life. Leaders today aren’t just leading human teams; they’re also leading digital workforces. That means thinking about how to optimize both human and AI contributions. Done well, AI will free people to focus on the uniquely human work — creativity, empathy, judgment — that machines cannot replace. But that shift makes inclusive, adaptive leadership more important than ever.

I’VE ALWAYS SAID THAT… it’s people and culture that matter most in life – and in business.

[MY HUSBAND AND I] TEND TO LIKE UNIQUE, ONE-OF-A-KIND EXPERIENCES… like restaurants that feel like home, where the food and people are both memorable. Favorites include Malai Kitchen, Istanbul Cuisine, Malacca Cafe and Sushi Zen. Pacific Table is another go-to here in town. In Colleyville, Napa Thai and Loveria Café are gems. We’ve also been longtime fans of Dan’s Bagels — from the days when it was a cottage bakery to now. If you really want to find me, though, the safest bet is probably the airport!

BOTH OF MY DAUGHTERS GRADUATED FROM… Carroll, and we moved here specifically for the public school system. Their teachers and counselors were simply amazing — it was the launchpad for their college years and now their professional lives. Time has flown, and the community looks very different today than when they were in school. But I’ll always be grateful for the strong foundation Carroll gave them and the way it connected our family more deeply to Southlake.

local FLAVOR

FRIES ON DECK

Fully loaded and ready to shred your taste buds

Burger, the fast-casual smashburger concept from professional skateboarder Neen Williams and Michelin-starred chef and restaurateur Phillip Frankland Lee, officially opened its first standalone Dallas location in August on McKinney Ave. The new outpost is already drawing burger devotees from across DFW, with wait times reaching up to an hour to get a bite of what’s quickly becoming Dallas’ most coveted cheeseburger.

tures just four items: a cheeseburger ($16), handcut fries ($5), a house-baked chocolate chip cookie ($4) and drinks from a full-service bar. But don’t mistake simplicity for lack of substance.

The star of the show is a double Wagyu patty, smashed and seared with grilled onions, topped with American cheese, house pickles, slightly tamed jalapeños and secret sauce, all nestled inside a toasted potato bun. Each patty is seasoned

with a proprietary spice blend from Williams’ NADC Spice Company, giving the burger its signature kick.

“We really just set out to make the perfect burger,” says Williams. “We didn’t plan on opening a bunch of restaurants. But then our friends started tasting it and kept telling us we had to sell it. The rest is history.”

It’s not just the burgers making tongues wag. The perfectly salted fries are double fried in beef tallow for maximum crisp. Adventurous types can upgrade to “Beast Mode” ($8) to get them loaded with cheese, pickles, jalapeños, special sauce and even more of that secret seasoning.

Inside, the restaurant pays homage to the founders’ roots in skate and food culture. The two-story space was designed by Lee’s hospitality team and features indoor-outdoor lounge seating, a colorful skate-inspired mural by local artist Scott Tarbox and laid-back counter service. It’s also the perfect place to lounge with friends and sip on one of their carefully curated cocktails, like the Deathwish - a nod to Williams’ skateboarding career, which is a tangy tropical, rum-based drink with passionfruit boba.

“It’s just been awesome to see this response,” Williams says. “The momentum is real, and it’s not slowing down. Dallas is a key market for us, and just like our standalone locations in Austin, Chicago, NYC and Denver, it’s a city where we know our NADC burgers will thrive. What sets us apart from our competitors is our commitment to doing one thing well. We don’t try to do everything, we just make a good burger with 100% wagyu, and that’s what keeps people coming back.”

Before landing in Uptown, NADC made its North Texas debut in Fort Worth, operating inside the Big Laugh Comedy Club. Despite its unconventional home, the burger earned a Best Burger award at the 2025 Fort Worth Food + Wine Festival, cementing its local credibility.

NADC is the first fast-casual venture from the acclaimed team at Scratch Restaurants Group, founded by Lee and his wife Margarita Kallas-Lee. While Scratch is best known for its high-touch, omakase-style tasting counters, including Pasta|Bar Los Angeles, which has held a Michelin star since 2021, the team brings that same attention to detail to every burger, bun and batch of fries.

In a market that is arguably oversaturated with burger options, the less-is-more philosophy is a refreshing change. At NADC, every detail, from the beef sourcing to the hand smash technique is perfectly crafted to deliver the perfect bite, again and again, guaranteeing foodies an unforgettable culinary experience.

Gas Monkey Icehouse Goes Full Throttle In The Colony

If you’ve ever revved an engine in your dreams, drooled over a perfectly patina’d ‘68 Camaro, or binged an entire season of Fast N’ Loud in one sitting, you know the kind of world Richard Rawlings builds — bigger, badder and unapologetically over the top.

Now, that world has a new home in The Colony: Gas Monkey Icehouse, where high-octane live music collides with bold-as-Texas comfort food and a scene that runs hotter than a freshly tuned V8.

Opening in May 2025, this latest venture isn’t some nostalgia act — it’s a wide-open throttle into the next era. It’s where the Metroplex comes to eat big, drink bigger and soak in a scene that’s pure Rawlings: loud, fast and impossible to ignore.

A full menu at Icehouse includes burgers loaded with jalapenos and caramel onions, pizzas topped with taco meat and hot honey, and crowd favorites like the Flying Monkey Wings (with unique flavors like honey sriracha) and Garage Beer-Battered Chicken Tenders . And, of course, a full drink menu with 28 beer taps and signature cocktails like the Summer Squeeze and a classic margarita made at the indoor and outdoor bars.

But this place isn’t just about feeding you — it’s about firing you up. You’ve got Texas-style hospitality at the core, wrapped in high-voltage entertainment and a vibe that feels like Friday night at the track. Massive flat-screens line the walls so you can catch the game from any angle, but the real show might be outside, where 13,000 square feet of glowing patio space looks out over Grandscape’s buzzing scene.

True to form, there’s still rubber on the road. Popup car shows roll in on weekends, live music keeps the amps warm, and every now and then, you might catch Rawlings himself filming something for the fans — giving you a front-row seat to a little behind-thescenes TV magic.

Gas Monkey Icehouse isn’t trying to be a hidden gem. It’s loud, proud and built to be seen, heard and tasted. Photos Courtesy of Gas Monkey Icehouse

Linger Longer

A Soak At WorldSprings Whisks You To Global Destinations

If your travel bucket list is gathering dust, there's now a way to circle the globe without ever stepping onto a plane.

Tucked away in The Colony, WorldSprings offers a curious blend of wellness retreat and cultural sampler — a place where one soak might transport you to Iceland's Blue Lagoon and the next to Mexico's Grutas Tolantongo. It's part spa, part playground –and a surprisingly convincing substitute for a passport stamp.

With more than 40 mineral springs and brisk cold plunges set at a bracing 55°F, the grounds feel like a choose-your-own-adventure for the body.

Each pool is modeled after a famous geothermal region and tailored to mimic its mineral composition. Magnesium-rich waters recall Asia, while a hypersaline float channels the Dead Sea.

The property is divided into four regions — South Pacific, European, Asiatic and Americas — and even the youngest travelers get their own slice of the map: families can settle into the South Pacific area, complete with a freshwater Globe Pool, saunas and shaded cabanas. The design strikes a rare balance, keeping things serene for adults while still giving kids a chance to splash and explore.

Internationally-inspired waters in The Colony

Beyond The Pools

Of course, the water is only part of the story. A wander around the property reveals fire pit lounges, birch-lined saunas, outdoor showers and rows of deck chairs where locals sprawl with novels or simply let the sun do its work. The atmosphere is casual, almost resort-like, but without the sense of hurry you sometimes find on actual vacations. Here, the day stretches out in long, easy rhythms — dip, dry off, sip, repeat.

Spa services round out the experience for those looking to linger longer. Guests can book facials or massages, or try recovery-minded add-ons like compression boots and LED light therapy. The options are thoughtful without feeling over the top — the kind of indulgences you wouldn't necessarily plan an entire trip around but are delighted to have at your fingertips.

And then there's the food. The Springs Café and Bar keeps the energy light with fresh, seasonal menus that work just as well for a quick bite as for a leisurely patio lunch. Poolside drink service is available too, and it's hard not to feel a little transported when your cocktail or mocktail arrives just as the sun breaks through the clouds.

Perhaps the most intriguing element is The Mineral Method, a guided circuit that strings together hot and cold pools, saunas and rest periods into a kind of wellness itinerary. Each routine is designed with a goal in mind — stress relief, athletic recovery, detoxification — but in practice, it feels less like a checklist and more like permission to slow down. Think of it as a wellness trail you follow at your own pace, with the water doing most of the work.

Know Before You Go

Admission comes in two forms: a three-hour soak or a full-day pass. Both include access to all mineral pools, cold plunges, saunas, lounge chairs and hydration stations. Towels are provided, while robes can be rented or purchased for extra comfort. Swimwear is required, and flip-flops or water shoes make it easy to move from one region to another. On weekends and holidays, advance reservations are strongly encouraged.

For those who want to level up, private cabanas are available for rent and come with shade, lounge seating and priority drink service. Families often use them as a home base, while couples treat them as a quiet retreat within the larger experience.

In the end, WorldSprings isn't just a collec tion of pools but an invitation to slip into another rhythm. One moment you're floating weightless in "Jordan," the next you're warming in a Finnish sau na, and suddenly the edges of North Texas blur into something much bigger. WorldSprings.com
