Royal Bengal Tiger, is the largest, fiercest, and most powerful member of the Big Cat family in India. A symbol of strength and respect, it has a fascinating mythological and anthropological history with the people of India. This feisty feline is the pride of the nation and rightfully the national animal too.

The famous Royal Bengal Tiger is found inhabiting the forests, and wetlands of India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, and Nepal

Every Bengal Tigers has a unique stripe pattern. We may have seen many tigers in our life, but no two tigers have similar strip patterns. Every tiger on earth has a distinct striped pattern which makes them different from other tigers and makes it easy to count them during the tiger census. The Bengal tiger’s appearance is distinguished from other tiger subspecies by its orange coat accented by prominent brownish-to-black stripes; a rare whitecoated variant of the subspecies also exists. The tail is orange in color with black rings. Unlike the other white tigers that have blue eyes, Bengal tigers have yellow irises. The International Union for Conservation of Nature and Natural Resources (IUCN) considers the Bengal tiger to be an endangered subspecies The largest threats to Bengal tiger survival are poaching and the conversion of the Bengal tiger’s habitat to agriculture, roads, and other types of human-controlled space. As the human population of India, Bhutan, Bangladesh, and Nepal continues to grow, the potential for human-tiger conflicts is expected to increase. India has 50 Tiger Reserves today and with strict Wildlife Laws and Protection, they are well protected within the confines of these Reserves The initiative to protect tigers had been raised in India as early as the 1900s. It is expected that tiger population in some of the preserves should grow by another 1500 in the next two decades.

The club came up with a heartwarming initiative on the occasion of World Kindness Day which was celebrated on 13th November. 15 members of the club visited Sree Old Home, a homely place that houses 30+ kind souls who are deprived of affection from their kith and kin.

Vegetables and fruits were donated as a goodwill gesture. The senior citizens shared anecdotes from their long and eventful lives, which gave valuable lessons to the young minds to cherish for life. The aim of the event was to contribute however little in bringing about happiness and enthusiasm in their lives.

04

The members of the club visited Govt Urdu Higher Primary School to celebrate Children's day with the kids of 1st to 7th standard. The community service team hosted an array of events ranging from musical chairs, in and out, crafts and entertainment. The members as well as the children performed dances, dramas and songs for the crowd. The children thoroughly enjoyed and cherished each and every minute which made us relive our childhood memories. WIth the help of a team of 15 members from the club, the event was a success and it served the sole purpose of the organisation, which is to build better bonds and friendship.

05

On the occasion of Children’s Day, Rotaract Club of Bharati Vidyapeeth Sunrise and Rotaract Club of Basaveshwaranagar jointly hosted a seminar about the basic techniques of Embroidery, Quilling and Quiz for children above the age of 12. Our club collaborated for the same. This Children's Day initiative aimed at teaching new skills with a lot of fun alongside.

Dr. Anuradha Vyas taught the children in a simple yet effective manner. This was reflected by the happy faces of the children who actively participated in the event.

Diabetes, which is a wide-spread chronic disease, has been one of the major threats to the human population. Even though it does not have any direct implications on the health, it amplifies the preexisting ailments and sometimes, in unfortunate circumstances, it takes a toll over the person ' s life.

Thereby, on occasion of World Diabetes Day on 16th November, in order to create awareness about this deep-rooted ailment that persists among people of all ages, Rotaract Club of Swayombhu, Nepal, hosted the second twin club initiative by bringing in 4 speakers who shared their valuable advice regarding the same.

07

F.R.I.E.N.D.S with Friends was a Club Service initiative conducted on 19th November wherein we hosted a screening of the compilation of the famous, 28 year old American sitcom. The compilation included a few of the most important scenes of this 10 season long TV series. It had the right amount of humour which was complimented by a tad bit of sorrow as well a lot of emotions.

The flawed yet perfect friendship among the protagonists of the series is something every viewer craves for. Rotaract Club of APS College of Engineering collaborated with us for the same. his heartwarming ride down the memory lane was indeed very endearing for the huge fanbase it has garnered over time.

08

District 3190 conducted a cultural event to commemorate Kannada Rajyotsava on 20th November at Viveka Auditorium, Yuva Patha, Jayanagar. The rich cultural heritage of Karnataka was vividly portrayed through the various folk dances, skits and drama. Adding on to this, Rtr. Sunidhi Koundinya, the Vice President of our Club performed a Bharatanatyam dance.

On the whole, Naada Habba was a very entertaining event that was a visual treat to all the proud Kannadigas in our district.

culture, traditions, food, landscape, geography, attire and much more. But what unites India more than anything is a cricket match. Indians often crib over the many things the Britishers have done to India, but we cannot thank them enough for leaving behind the sport of cricket. Cricket is played in many formats i.e., Test, One Day International and T20. With the recent changes, one gets to experience the 100 and also T10 league. But one format that stands out is the Test format. The format which challenges the mental strength, patience and resilience of not only a team but also of an individual. Test cricket is often referred to as the purest form of the sport and hence is played in whites. It has a rich history of 144 years and counting. A test match is usually spread over 5 days with each day having 3 sessions. It consists of 4 innings as the teams get 2 innings each. The grueling battle takes place on various surfaces which depends upon the host country. In England we get to see surfaces which help bowlers to swing the ball, the weather conditions also play a key role. In Australia we get to see bouncy pitches and in India we get to see spin tracks. All surfaces aiding one particular type of bowler, or in some cases, it may aid the whole bowling or batting unit of the team. The excitement of a test match cannot be witnessed in just a days’ time. A test cricket fan might ask you to watch the last 3 sessions of the 5th day for some action. Gabba 2021, Headingly 2019, Lord’s 2021, Edgbaston 2019, Eden Gardens 2001 are a few examples. Hard fought battles leading to the last ball of the final session on the final day is what makes test cricket that much more beautiful and exciting. To name a few Indian stalwarts in test cricket, we have the great Gundappa Vishwanath, more commonly known as GR Vishwanath.

10

We have Sunil Gavaskar, Sachin Tendulkar, VVS Laxman, Rahul Dravid and Virat Kohli. We do have legendary bowlers also such as Anil Kumble, Javagal Srinath, Roger Binny, Harbhajan Singh, Zaheer Khan and many more. If we are to take the name of the greatest test cricketer of all time, it has to be Sir Donald Bradman, more commonly known as Don Bradman, the Don of Cricket He was an Australian batsman who retired with an average of 99 4 in the format The highest ever You might be thinking what is all this to do with the title given to this article. One may refer test cricket as boring or a mere time waste. But a true cricket fan watches test cricket because that is where the actual brand of cricket is played. The International Cricket Council started something called as the World Test Championship. This was introduced with the intention of reviving test cricket and also to bring fans into the stadiums across the world. There are 9 teams which take part in the Test Championship over a period of 2 years where a team gets to play 3 away test series and 3 home test series. The points are based on percentage and the number of matches a team plays in each series. The teams can also play pink ball test matches also known as Day Night Tests. The first World Test Championship cycle was played from 2019-21. New Zealand were the champions of the inaugural edition with India as the runners up. The 2021-23 cycle is being played and the finals shall be played in June 2023 at the iconic Lord’s Cricket Ground in London. With everything being said, test cricket remains the oldest played format of the sport and no one can write off the fact that it is the purest form of the sport and its rich tradition remains intact. The ICC has given an innovative touch to this amazing and exciting format of cricket and fans do seem Interested and excited. Test cricket can never die and will only grow in the future with a new brand of cricket being played now.
