It’s an Ace for Donna Whitehill

2025 Pink Ribbon Hits New Record!

We are thrilled to announce that the final fundraising amount from the Pink Ribbon event held at PNCC on October 7th, is $33,332! This is a fundraising record here at PNCC, and it is almost a 30% increase over what we raised last year. It could not have happened without the generous support of this club and its members, and we will happily deliver these funds this Friday to Ms. Tanya Armour at the Zimmer Cancer Center. As you know, these funds support underinsured and uninsured local residents needing 3D mammograms and possible breast cancer treatment at Novant.

Congrats to Donna Whitehill! She made a Hole in One at our McConnell Golf sister property, Musgrove Mill Golf Club on #2.
Congrats to our 2025 Pink Ribbon Champs! Cierra Brock, Shelby Godley, Ashley Schuman, and Amanda Swift To more see photos from this event, visit the Golf section of The Post!
Congrats are also in order for these recent winners.

FEEDING GRATITUDE, ONE FIREHOUSE AT A TIME

This Thanksgiving season, the Porters Neck community is coming together to show heartfelt appreciation for the men and women of the New Hanover County Fire Department the everyday heroes who serve and protect us all year long

Harvest for Heroes was created in partnership with Fire Chief Donnie Hall and the New Hanover County Fire Department to ensure our gratitude reaches every station across the county

Through this initiative, we will provide a full Thanksgiving feast to all eight New Hanover County firehouses, ensuring that those on duty can still experience the warmth, comfort, and tradition of the holiday, even while away from their families Our team will coordinate with each station to ensure sufficient quantities of food are available for all First Responders at each location

We invite Porters Neck Country Club members to join this meaningful effort by contributing toward meals, desserts, or supplies that will help bring this gesture of thanks to life

Example: Week one we learn Driver. We go out on the course and practice Driver. The next week we learn fairway wood, We go out on the course and practice Driver and Fairway Wood. The next week we learn 7 Iron. We go out on the course and hit Driver, Fairway Wood, 7 iron….so forth and so on.

Charity Golf Tournament, Benefitting NourishNC

FRIDAY,DECEMBER12 & SATURDAY,DECEMBER13

December, 1998

In 1998, Porters Neck members Rick Batchelor and Ebeneezer (Ebb) Wilkinson, pictured in the red hat, decided to host the very first Ebeneezer golf tournament For the first 10 to 12 years, it was an invitation only event Members would host various ‘stops’ along the golf course with warm clam chowder and bloody mary ’ s The event became so popular that it became an official club event, spear headed by PNCC member, Jim Daly and a planning committee

While the format, fun, and festive gear remained pretty much the same, the members soon decided to make this a charity event. Over the past 8 years, the Ebeneezer has generated over $70,000 for various charities like the Boys and Girls Club, Assistance League, Semper Fi Fund, Good Sheperd, Paws4people, and Hop On a Cure for ALS.

This year, we will be opening the Annual Ebeneezer to all PNCC Golf members as well as Sport members who are on the Golf Waiting List. This is a fun event with a worthy cause. Our charity of choice for 2025 is, NourishNC. This worthy organization mobilizes volunteers and resources to provide supplemental food assistance to the 1 in 6 children in New Hanover County who struggle with hunger. NourishNC’s goal is to enhance children’s health and well-being by preventing the devastating consequences of food insecurity. Our programming supports our vision to be anywhere and everywhere food insecure children need us.

The entry fee is $125 per person and includes: cart fee, lunch, free beer on the golf course, 2 drink tickets, prizes, tee gifts, and a $50 donation to Hop On A Cure Register online or by calling the Pro Shop at 910-686-1177

Yin with Thai Assists

WEDNESDAY, NOVEMBER 19 | 6:00 - 7:15 PM

Taught by Caroline: Yin is a practice with longer, passive holds that are held between 2 to 5 or more minutes, working on the deep connecting tissues that are generally not reached in a more active practice. It also improves flexibility, stimulates tendons, ligaments and increases circulation in the joints.

Through a series of nurturing poses and mindful breathing, you ’ ll cultivate a profound sense of inner peace while allowing your body to gently unwind and rejuvenate

The fee is $25 or $20 if you have a monthly or 6 month group exercise package Registration is required Limit of 8 Participants

Restful yoga focuses on the release of body-mind tension and bringing your nervous system into a state of healing The practice is enhanced with soft music & lighting, guided visualization, breathing techniques and mantras & mudras to help you balance your energy and quiet your mind. Although yoga experience isn’t necessary, you need to be comfortable getting onto floor mats Studio mats & props available Guided by Laura
