Dear MCC Members, Happy March!

The Board continues to work on the strategic plan, and as soon as it is customized, then finalized, I will make sure the plan is unveiled and shared with all members. It should take place soon.

Another update worth noting is our website. As the month concludes, Tammie

will finish a draft and share with the House Committee, from there we hope to unveil the new site, complete with new pictures, information, and easier bill pay to the membership. We’ll keep you posted for the launch date.

With that, I look forward to seeing you around your club,

February was packed with great events, and we’re grateful for your support.

Here’s a look back at the highlights and what’s ahead for March

Our Milam & Greene Whiskey Dinner was a wonderful evening good company, great pours, and plenty of enthusiasm. If you missed out (or want another round), we are in talks for a second event Stay tuned for details

Valentine’s Day brought a delightful night at the club, filled with laughter, good food, and great company. Thank you to all who joined us.

With Lent approaching, we are preparing special lunch and dinner features to accommodate the season. We are also planning a Hickory Grill menu update soon.

Exciting news from Paul Hobbs we have secured two rare cases of the 2017 Beckstoffer To Kalon, likely the last in Texas. Please call reception or speak with our dining room staff to reserve a bottle.

Club,

Dear MCC Members,

The HWY 83 Matches / McAllen CC vs Harlingen CC were unable to be completed in 2024, so both teams agreed to move the event to 2025

MCC Captain, Kevin Hartley, assembled a do-or-die team ready to take on anybody The first day of the tournament took place here at MCC. It was a very challenging day one for everyone. Winds were gusting 30+mph, and the pins were diabolical. Course knowledge was definitely key to the success we had at the end of day one. When the players were making the turn, I was biting my nails as it did not look good I had to give the boys a little pep talk at the turn. It sparked something and we saw a huge turnaround. Day one was ours; 96 points to 48.

On day two, the competition moved to Harlingen CC. It was equally windy there, but our boys knew how to handle it MCC was able to accumulate 66 points to HCC’s 78; it was good enough for victory.

Big congratulations to Captain Kevin Hartley and the MCC team. Thank you: Kevin Hartley, Richard Wilson, Cam MacDonald, Calvin Lackey, Dan MacDonald, Rene Lopez, Kenny Hartley, Dr Carlos Ontiveros, Chuck Gomez, Miguel Del Angel Sr., Miguel Del Angel Jr., Hernan Mireles, Armando Araujo, Luis Alcocer, Jorge Calleja-Barret, Polo Perez, Edgar Trevino, Rogelio Garza, Tato Tamez, and Andy Alejo. mike@mcallencountryclub.com
