MCC NEWSLETTER

APRIL 2025

Dear MCC Members, Happy April!

As always, we have exciting updates and improvements happening around the club that I am thrilled to share with you.

By the time you receive your newsletter, our temporary pickleball courts will be

resurfaced and equipped with brand-new, stationary nets. Our hope is that this upgrade will lead to a better member racquets experience. I am confident that it will. Darron and his staff invite you to come out and enjoy the permanent, improved courts.

Also, in our continuous efforts to enhance your dining experience, we have installed a state-of-theart wine preservation system in the Members Lounge. This system will allow us to offer a wider selection of premium wines by the glass, giving you the opportunity to enjoy higher-end bottles without committing to a full bottle. We look forward to sharing this exciting new addition with you on your next visit. If it proves as popular as I believe, perhaps another system on the opposite side of the bar will be in order.

Please note that the golf course and practice areas are and always have been closed on Mondays for maintenance. This ensures that our facilities remain in peak condition for a great member golf experience.

As I’ve mentioned in previous newsletters, the Board of Directors has been hard at work finalizing our strategic plan They understand, and hope that members can appreciate that such an endeavor takes time to research, develop, and execute. The Board also understands that communication is key to success; that is their promise to the membership.

As I mentioned last month, the brand-new website is on its way. Our updated site will feature a more user-friendly design, easier navigation, and a host of new features to improve your overall experience Stay tuned for the official launch – we can’t wait to share it with you

With that, I look forward to seeing you around your club,

Jeff

Dining

Dear MCC Members,

Our special Lent features will continue into April, offering more opportunities to enjoy seasonal selections before we transition into our next round of chef-curated dishes.

In dining, both the Hickory and Roost menus have been refreshed with new offerings, be sure to stop by and try something new.

In the Members Lounge, we’re excited to introduce our new wine preservation/dispensing system and are kicking things off with Spanish Wine

Tasting and Tapas on April 9th.

April brings back some of our favorite club traditions. Shrimp by the Lake, Bunny Brunch and Egg Hunt, and Easter Brunch celebrations are all on the horizon. Look at Clubster and the newsletter for more information or ask your dining room staff for all the details

We continue to monitor the pricing and availability of eggs and poultry Over the past couple of months, our egg prices have tripled, and poultry supply has been inconsistent To ensure the best quality for our members, we are sourcing eggs locally from a family farm whenever possible We appreciate your understanding and will keep adapting as needed to maintain MCC standards

Men’s Sundowner HAS CHANGED!!!

We are excited for the 62nd playing of the Majors at McAllen – The 2025 Member/Guest. The Golf & Green Committee has decided to make some exciting new changes to the event

The biggest change is in the format, Round Robin. There will be nine flights with six teams in each flight. The teams, within each flight, will compete in five nine-hole matches over the three days Teams will accumulate points based on whether they win a hole, lose a hole, or tie a hole. If they win the match, the team is awarded an extra point.

At the conclusion of the five matches, team totals, within each flight, will be added up to determine the winner. The winners of each flight will then go into a Champion’s Shootout to determine the Overall Member-Guest Winner.

The Member-Guest will be played on April 23rd to the 26th
