Student Project Feature

Sophomore English II Poe Project

Freshman Marine Biology Fish Flips

After being given a series of fish to identify, students created study cards with information about the fish and learned about organisms they might find in the bay.

Students were tasked with reading one of six Edgar Allan Poe short stories and creating either an art project or creative writing about the story they chose.

Students had to create a bridge confined to dimension and weight limitations. This bridge was then placed on a tester as weight was added. The winning bridge had the largest pressure of 2.64 pounds held per gram of bridge weight.

Students were given a series of questions about normal distributions, percentiles, and Z-scores. When answered correctly, they formed a portion of a picture of a cherry blossom tree.

Halloween

Loved seeing the school spirit on Halloween! The seniors Trunk or Treat was so fun and many of the cars had great decor, memorable ones being the Star Wars theme and the pirate theme. Hope everyone who went out got enough candy to last for a good few months. Happy Halloween!

Rise of Pokémon GO

Remember that popular mobile game that took the world by storm in 2016? Well, recently, that game has resurfaced among the MAST community. Pokémon GO encourages exercise, camaraderie, and friendly competition between its players. Players can “friend” each other on the game and send gifts and even trade each other cool Pokémon characters. Students and teachers who are veteran players of the game have encouraged others to join in on the fun. Join Pokémon go today! As always, make sure to stay safe out there and catch ‘em all! ***Remember to log on during December 17th and 18th for the Pokémon Go Community Day Classic Event!***

Battle together! Find real world landmarks in-game!

Holidays

Now that Halloween is over, it’s time to start the Mariah Carey playlist! Gift your loved ones something special and appreciate them this holiday season. Make sure to do your holiday shopping in advance so you aren’t stuck with the leftover gifts that no one wants. Hope everyone’s Thanksgiving went well and that everyone ate some delicious food. This group of juniors in Technology definitely had a great Thanksgiving Eve. Just Ms. Green and the guys.
