The Trail- Isabella Haddad

I am on my way.

I wonder if there is anything acting as an obstacle.

I hear nothing but the worries of the people of what is to come.

I see only the path in front of me, nonetheless what I have passed.

I want to know the creature's name. I am the trail.

I pretend that I am fearless with every step I take.

I hear something beyond the corner, waiting to surprise me.

I touch the cold, yet round tree, pulling with such little force.

I worry if I pull too hard something might fall before my very eyes.

I cry when I ponder over the fact that nothing lasts forever.

I understand that sometimes even though you must let go physically, you can't let go mentally.

I say to myself to walk forward, keeping a pencil and paper at hand.

I dream of hope and faith that will bring an end to this test of logical thinking.

I hope that time will be on my side at this point.

I try to overcome this feeling of hopelessness. I am done.
