Somewhere to go during COVID! During this time of COVID restrictions visiting attractions locally shows that we don’t have to travel too far to enjoy world class attractions. One such attraction is the historic ride on The Mary Valley Rattles from the Historic Gympie Railway Station along the Mary Valley line out to the Amamoor Rail station.

Each Saturday you can depart Gympie at 10:00am arriving Amamoor at 11:00am
The band comprises of between 12 to 14 Pipers and Drummers who are dressed in full Scottish highland regalia and play a wide variety of entertaining music both traditional and modern. What a great way to relive some of the historic Queensland way of life and enjoy great country views of the Mary Valley and it is only a short drive from Maleny.
On the weekend of Saturday the 21st August from 9.30am something very special will be happening at the historic Gympie Station making this day an extra special day to visit the Rattler.
The train then departs Amamoor at 12:00pm. arriving back at the Gympie Station at 1:00pm.
The Noosa & District Pipe Band will Pipe the train off as it leaves the station.
The train is pulled by a C17 locomotive. This class was overall the most numerous class
The Mary Valley Rattler is a not for profit organisation ensuring the public has access to a historic rail experience. It operates with assistance from a large group of volunteers and are administered by a voluntary board. Bookings are essential due to limited availability and acceptance of special terms and conditions of travel, bookings are required by calling the station on (07) 5482 2750
