Covid 19 injection rollout to begin!

Over the past 12 to 18 months a world pandemic has occurred Coronavirus (COVID-19) can cause serious ongoing health issues, and sometimes death. It is still a new virus and as such we are still learning more about it.

The outbreak has impacted signi cant aspects of everyday lives including travel, work, entertainment such as sporting events, concerts and festivals cancelled. From mid-March, eligible people will be able to book online via Queensland Health’s digital solution for vaccination at a Queensland Health vaccination hub. COVID-19 vaccines will be available in phases. Various Groups of people will get the vaccination at different times. It is envisaged that eventually every hospital and health service in Queensland will be providing vaccinations as part of Queensland’s rollout. At the present time the closest vaccine hub is at the Sunshine Coast University Hospital and Beerwah Surgery, Simpson Street, Beerwah. Queensland Health aims to give every eligible Queenslander the opportunity to be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 as soon as possible. These vaccines will be available in phases as are deemed people who are most at risk from the disease. . The groups are Phase 1a, Phase 1b, Phase 2a, Phase 2b and Phase 3. Depending on your eligibility. when your group is to be vaccinated you will receive an email or letter with an invitation code and instructions on how to book an appointment. You can also get help with

creating your appointment booking at the web site below: https://covid-vaccine.healthdirect.gov.au/eligibility. Most vulnerable people will be in Phase 1 b which is immediately after Phase 1a - front line health care workers and other front line emergency service workers Elderly adults aged 80 years and over Elderly adults aged 70-79 years Other health care workers Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander adults over 55 55 Adults with a speci ed medical condition Whether you are in a priority group or not, the best thing you can do is stay up to date and continue to be COVIDSafe. Initially the vaccine hubs may be short of vaccines, but this is a short term logistical problem so please be patient with staff when attempting to book appointments.
