Maleny District Sport & Recreation Club Community Newsletter TS Centaur Cadets - Youth Club With a Difference The Australian Naval Cadets vision is to provide an environment and opportunities to develop young Australians between the ages of 13 and 17 years to become capable, con dent and resilient members of their communities. This is done through delivering safe, challenging and meaningful experiences and maximises the use of Royal Australian Navy watercraft and Navy ships. So what is different about the TS Centaur Navy Cadets? Well for one thing, the Cadets and trainers proudly wear the Royal Australian Navy Uniform. The trainers work hard in delivering their primary aim of guiding the way for young Maleny locals - by improving their skills in leadership, teamwork and communication. How do they achieve this? Whilst their primary focus has a de nite maritime basis, the of cers and trainers deliver these skills via sailing, canoeing, seamanship, camping and some fun sports. Annual training camps are also held,
often interstate and with other training ships! Being a Navy Cadet also provides great opportunities to make new friends, be part of a team The TS Centaur Cadets meet at the Maleny Showgrounds in their own custom-built building, next to the Croquet lawns. WHEN: every Wednesday from 5.15 to 9.00 pm (except school holidays) WHO: They cater for boys and girls from 12 1/2 to 18 years of age
