Maleny District Sport & Recreation Club Community Newsletter From Maleny Redbacks to Cricketing Superstar Nick Selman commenced his cricketing journey with the Maleny Cricket Club as a junior Redbacks, rising through the ranks to the lower grades at the Glasshouse Districts CC. Nick quickly progressed through to 1st Grade with the Rangers and then on to the Sunshine Coast Scorchers Nick earned youth representative honours for Queensland at both cricket and Australian Rules. He represented Queensland in 2012-13 In the U17 National Championships and U19's in 2014-2015. Seeking higher honours, In 2015 Nick moved to Kent and played 2nd XI. Opportunity knocked and a contract secured with Glamorgan in November 2015, where he's spent six seasons. In the weekend of 15th January 2022, Nick, often described as an 'old school batsman', brought up 4000 runs in 1st Grade with his unbeaten innings of 137. A fabulous milestone to be acknowledged; congratulations Nick!
