MCC RECEIVES US DEPT. OF LABOR GRANT
Madisonville Community College has been awarded a grant totaling $591,343 from the U.S. Department of Labor in partnership with the Appalachian Regional Commission, Delta Regional Authority, and Northern Border Regional Commission. This grant is a part of the Workforce Opportunities for Rural Communities initiative, which aims to provide career training and supportive services to help individuals secure good jobs in stable, high-demand occupations.

Dr. Cindy Kelley, President of Madisonville Community College, said, “This grant reflects MCC’s dedication to excellence and our region’s economic development. With these funds, we’ll elevate our manufacturing and machining program to align with industry needs. We’re excited about the positive impact this support will have on our students and the local economy.”
This grant will be instrumental in renewing the college’s manufacturing and machining program, a critical educational offering given the high demand for machine tool skills among western Kentucky manufacturers.
