FALL SPIRIT WEEK & ORIENTATION

Madisonville Community College kicked off the school year with events and activities to prepare students for an exciting and successful year. Before the semester began, students were invited to attend the Pathfinder Orientation on MCC’s North Campus on Friday, August 4th, and the Muhlenberg Campus on August 10th. Pathfinder Orientation was designed to assist students with their transition to MCC. It was a wonderful way to discover the resources available at Madisonville Community College. Our job was to support students through the subsequent steps of their college journey. New students were encouraged to attend before classes began. During the first week of classes, we celebrated Welcome Week. Navigation stations were at various places on campus offering campus maps, supplies, snacks, water, and first-day photos. The Student Government Association hosted back-to-school bingo and an MCC scavenger hunt.

MCC Spirit Day - Muhlenberg Campus

MCC Spirit Day took place on August 22nd at the North Campus and August 24th at the Muhlenberg Campus. The campuses came alive with the buzz of students, faculty, staff, and community members participating in activities that celebrated the dynamic spirit of the institution. At the heart of the event was the Student Clubs, Organizations, and Academic Support Services Fair. This fair was an amazing opportunity for students to get involved on campus, learn about various academic resources, and join organizations that resonate with their interests and aspirations. Students who visited all booths received a prize and were entered into a drawing for a grand prize. Throughout the day, attendees posed for pictures, showcasing a smile and their MCC spirit.

Patricia Lovett, Dean of Student Affairs, commented, “It’s exciting to see students back at MCC. They bring the energy to campus and it’s nice to see new faces. The first 6 weeks of college are very important in determining a student’s ability to persist and graduate. So, it’s important to have events and activities that help students navigate campus life and help them to become more acclimated to MCC.”
