It takes a combination of tuition and charitable donations to provide the distinctive and ideal learning environment that Lowcountry Prep offers. Your generous financial giving supports the heart of our school, furthers the impact of our mission and allows for: small class size that encourages meaningful connections, exemplary teachers that design enriching experiences, and the prioritization of a secure and supportive environment where students feel physically, emotionally and educationally safe.
Most independent schools cannot charge the full cost of educating students without pricing themselves out of the market, and our school is no different. While tuition at Lowcountry Prep covers the essentials, it is the additional revenue received from the Annual Fund, BASH, and other activities which provide the depth and breadth of the total experience students receive at this school. Tuition covers about 87-percent of the school‘s operating expenses. The other 13percent is made up through tax-deductible charitable giving.
Your gift to the Annual Fund both maintains and strengthens the educational program for our 200 students and provides thoughtful resources for faculty and facilities. Each dollar is an investment that enriches our physical plant and our students and enhances the ideal and desired learning environment that Lowcountry Prep strives to provide now and in the future.

High school graduation is a celebrated step in a student's educational journey. Earning a diploma opens doors to higher education and employment opportunities while providing a sense of achievement and accomplishment. The Class of 2023 senior year was filled with great success and exceptional recognition.
Valedictorian Abigail Elliott spoke to her classmates during the graduation ceremony, reflecting on their challenges and accomplishments, and brought focus to their future endeavors. Abbie offered this advice. “Do everything. Try your absolute hardest to make the grades. Play every sport no matter how time consuming and emotionally exhausting because it’s exhilarating. Be in every club, because playing chess at lunch is fun and stocks are weird and redoing an entire yearbook in 3 days will almost drive you insane but will be so fulfilling in the end.”
The Class of 2023 secured more than $5.4M in scholarships and grants and are attending some of the nation’s top colleges and universities.

ProgramHighlightsfrom2022-2023
Throughout the 2022-23 academic year, our teachers provided a broad array of enriching experiences beyond traditional academics. Students engaged in diverse opportunities that fostered personal growth, creativity, and exploration. From musical performances on Veteran’s Day to winning first-place at the South Carolina Independent School Association Science Fair to our Chess Team finishing in the top three in the state, our students excelled in the classroom and in the community.
Moreover, we reaffirmed our commitment to maintaining a secure and supportive environment. To prioritize the safety and well-being of every student, we hired an armed guard to monitor campus. Major Fred not only facilitates traffic flow, he also completes routine security patrols throughout the day. Additionally, we installed gates at each entrance to closely monitor vehicle movement on campus. Robust safety measures and a strong support network empower our students to flourish with confidence.
In addition to physical safety, building meaningful connections to develop a sense of belonging is also essential. We've encouraged students to connect with peers, teachers, and the broader community. These connections have been instrumental in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere where everyone feels valued and heard.

Building A Scholastic Heritage - B.A.S.H.
BASH (Building a Scholastic Heritage) has been a cherished tradition at our institution, founded with the aim of preserving and enhancing our scholastic heritage. Over the years, it has evolved into a celebration of our school's rich academic legacy, as well as a means to raise essential funds for our educational programs.
Summary of BASH 2023Yacht Rock
This past spring, we set sail on a musical journey as
we celebrated the culmination of our scholastic heritage with BASH 2023, themed "Yacht Rock." Attendees donned their navy stripes or glamoured it up with gold and white seafaring attire, embracing the Yacht Rock spirit.
Generous Donations and Theme Baskets: The heart of BASH lies in the spirit of giving, and this year was no exception. Our community came together, donating an array of valuable items and services for our auctions.
Silent Auction Success: Our silent auction was a resounding success, raising over $10,000. The silent auction featured an impressive array of items, each a testament to the generosity and commitment of our supporters.
Strong Sponsorship: We were incredibly grateful to receive $13,300 in sponsorship from local businesses and individuals who believe in our mission to uphold educational excellence, sailing alongside us on our Yacht Rock adventure.
Tony Starlight's Smooth Tunes: Tony Starlight, our esteemed deejay for the evening, added a touch of musical magic to our voyage. With his smooth tunes, he kept the atmosphere lively and the dance floor rocking.
Thrilling Live Auction: The highlight of the evening was undoubtedly the live auction, where spirited bidding wars unfolded while we grooved to the smooth sounds of Yacht Rock. The live auction raised an impressive $11,450, a testament to the passion and dedication of our community.
Strong Community Support: Our school community showed unwavering support by purchasing close to $4,000 worth of event tickets, ensuring that our Yacht Rock voyage was a night to remember.
BASH 2023 - "Yacht Rock" was more than just an event; it was a journey through time, celebrating our past, present, and future. It showcased our collective commitment to preserving and enhancing the scholastic excellence that defines our institution, all while setting sail on the smooth waves of Yacht Rock and being serenaded by Tony Starlight. The funds raised will go towards bolstering our educational programs, ensuring that our students continue to receive a top-notch education.
As we look back on BASH 2023, we are filled with gratitude for the overwhelming support of our community. It is a testament to the enduring legacy of our school and the bright future that lies ahead. Thank you for helping us build a scholastic heritage that will inspire generations to come and for joining us on our unforgettable Yacht Rock adventure, complete with Tony Starlight's musical magic.

Model UN Travels to NYC
The Model United Nations Club is a student-led initiative, focused on addressing and effecting change for global issues, following the framework of the United Nations. Our club annually participates in the National High School Model United Nations (NHSMUN) conference in New York City during the spring. NHSMUN offers an unparalleled opportunity to engage with the very essence of global diplomacy. Our students have the privilege of attending meetings with the diplomatic representatives of the countries they represent, and they also interact with UN and NGO leaders in dynamic question-and-answer sessions, during which they discuss pressing real-world problems and brainstorm potential solutions.
The club's popularity has steadily grown over the years. In its inaugural year, we took seven students to NHSMUN. In the past school year, this number doubled to 14 students in attendance, and we are delighted to report that over 20 students have already signed up to participate this year.
French Exchange Program
LPS collaborates closely with St. Denis International School to offer our students a comprehensive language immersion encounter. In the year 2023, students from France, studying at St. Denis, spent an entire month at LPS, actively participating in classes and residing with welcoming host families. Looking ahead to 2024, LPS students eagerly anticipate the upcoming opportunity to spend a transformative two-week period living and studying in the beautiful surroundings of France.
As an integral component of LPS's commitment to nurturing global citizens, we extend opportunities for teacher-led summer educational journeys. At the conclusion of the 2022-23 academic year, a group comprising 22 LPS students and 15 accompanying adults embarked on a 12-day adventure with EF Tours, immersing themselves in the rich tapestry of French culture, history, and cuisine. These programs exemplify LPS's unwavering dedication to broadening our students' horizons and introducing them to the global landscape outside the confines of traditional classroom education.

This innovative initiative harnesses the therapeutic presence of specially trained dogs to create a nurturing and non-judgmental reading environment. Its primary goal is to enhance children's literacy skills while nurturing a genuine passion for reading. The R.E.A.D. program has garnered recognition for its positive impact and is now being implemented in educational settings worldwide.

Marlin Moms in Prayer is a cherished and enduring program that has been an integral part of the Lowcountry Preparatory School community for over five years. Founded on the principles of faith, unity, and support, MMIP brings together a group of dedicated mothers and family members who devote an hour every Tuesday to uplift the school, its students, staff, and board in prayer.
At the heart of Marlin Moms in Prayer is our sincere commitment to fostering a nurturing and supportive
environment for the entire Lowcountry Preparatory School family. Our mission is threefold: prayer for students, support for staff through prayer, and prayer over school concerns and our School Board.
Marlin Moms in Prayer is a testament to the unwavering dedication of the Lowcountry Preparatory School community to the spiritual well-being and growth of its members. For over five years, we have stood together in prayer, supporting one another and entrusting our school's future to a higher power. We invite you to join us in this remarkable journey of faith, unity, and support. Together, we will continue to nurture the spirit of Lowcountry Preparatory School, fostering a thriving and spiritually enriched community for years to come.
Upholding Integrity: The Honor Code
At Lowcountry Preparatory School, integrity is the cornerstone of our educational community. Our Honor Code, deeply rooted in the values of honesty, trust, and respect, serves as a guiding light for all students, staff, and faculty. It is a commitment to a culture of trust and ethical conduct that shapes our school's character.
To reinforce their commitment to the Honor Code, students participate in a meaningful tradition. At the start of each year, students sign their names on a matting that surrounds the Honor Code, signifying their personal dedication to upholding its principles. This physical act serves as a daily reminder of their promise to themselves and to the school community.
The Honor Code at Lowcountry Preparatory School is more than just words, it is a daily reminder that, as a community, we hold ourselves to the highest ethical standards. We believe that nurturing these values in our students not only prepares them for academic success but also equips them with the moral compass to lead principled lives. Together, we uphold the Honor Code and continue to build a culture of trust and integrity that sets our school apart.

Empowering Hearts, Changing Lives: Our Commitment to Service
At Lowcountry Preparatory School, we believe that education is about more than educating the mind. Equally as important is inspiring compassionate hearts and socially responsible individuals who make a positive impact on the world. Our commitment to service is reflected in our students' outstanding efforts to give back to the community.
A Year of Compassion and Action
In the past year, our students have demonstrated their dedication to service through various initiatives that touch the lives of those in need. Here are some highlights of their remarkable contributions:
Backpacks for Miss Ruby's Kids: Our students rallied together to provide backpacks filled with essential supplies to support the children served by Miss Ruby's Kids. This initiative ensured that young learners had the tools they needed to excel in their studies and build a brighter future.
Reviving Finn Friends: Building on a tradition of intergenerational connections, our students reestablished the beloved "Finn Friends" program. Seniors from our school visited kindergarten students each week, fostering bonds, imparting wisdom, and creating cherished memories that span generations.
Raise Craze: Acts of Kindness Fundraiser: In a testament to our commitment to kindness, all our students enthusiastically participated in the Raise Craze fundraiser. The heart of this initiative lies in performing Acts of Kindness, both big and small, to raise funds for worthy causes. We are proud to announce that our students collectively raised over $50,000 through their acts of kindness, which exceeded our goal by over 200%. Special thanks to our donors identified on the following page.
