This publication represents not only another meaningful year at Lowcountry Preparatory School, but also a defining moment in our story. As we celebrate our 30th year, we pause to honor the vision of the inspired parents who founded this school and to recognize the exceptional Marlin community that continues to bring that vision to life
Over the past year, our community has engaged in thoughtful reflection and purposeful planning as we completed and launched a new five-year strategic plan. This work has clarified both who we are and where we are headed, anchored by a shared commitment to providing a secure and supportive environment, fostering meaningful connections, offering enriching experiences, and pursuing academic excellence Together, these anchor statements guide our daily decisions and longterm priorities, ensuring that our mission remains in focus and lived
At the same time, our Portrait of a Graduate was created to shape how we view student growth and success. We aspire for every Lowcountry Prep graduate to leave our campus with strong character, self-awareness, leadership skills, a commitment to service, and a lifelong love of learning Our Marlins are prepared not only for what comes next academically, but for purposeful lives and make waves beyond our campus.
Your support of the Annual Fund is essential to making this vision a reality. Quite simply, the experiences that define our school and the outcomes we seek for our students are made possible through your generosity
In the pages that follow, you will find moments of celebration and generosity from the past year that reflect the heart of our mission and the impact of your partnership. We extend our deepest gratitude to all who are recognized in this report and to every member of our community who believes in the promise of Lowcountry Prep
As we reflect on three decades of growth and look ahead with clarity and confidence, we remain deeply grateful for your continued partnership and investment in the future of our school.

With appreciation, Wes Wehunt

At Lowcountry Preparatory School, the Annual Fund is more than a line item in our budget, it is the foundation that helps us bring our 2030 Strategic Plan to life and live out our mission: We empower students to achieve their full potential by growing in faith and character to lead with integrity and serve with compassion. Every dollar given supports the pillars of our plan: fostering a secure and supportive environment, achieving educational excellence, building meaningful connections, and providing enriching experiences for every Marlin.
This past year, our community showed remarkable growth in support. Parent participation increased from just 13% to 40%, a testament to the belief our families have in the mission and future of LPS. We also achieved 100% participation from our Board of Trustees, faculty, and staff, a powerful vote of confidence from those who lead and serve our school daily
Perhaps most inspiring of all, we saw our students step forward as well: two students made gifts to the Annual Fund Their generosity reflects the spirit of leadership and service we strive to cultivate at LPS and reminds us that giving back is a lesson learned best by example
Looking ahead, we hope to build on this momentum by doubling parent participation in the year to come When every Marlin family makes a gift, no matter the size, the impact is magnified Together, we strengthen our ability to invest in the people, programs, and facilities that will carry LPS boldly into its next 30 years
Your support ensures our students continue to grow as bold, resourceful, resilient, and ethical leaders, living out our mission and ready to make waves in the world Thank you for partnering with us in this important work
With appreciation,
Sarah Knight Director of Advancement and Alumni Relations Lowcountry Preparatory School

“Only at Lowcountry could I have played soccer, even though I hadn’t played in years
Only at Lowcountry could I have gained the social confidence to attend Boys State and lead the Yearbook team and speak here in front of you today. Only at Lowcountry could I have experienced these close and meaningful connections with teachers. Teachers that care enough about their students to buy them Cheez-Itz and tamales and barbeque for classes or custom cakes and charcuterie boards for weekend study sessions...
No one will be perfect, by simply trying your best–whether it be on your schoolwork, engaging politely with others, or being a part of a community–you will unlock a world of enriching experiences. That is the most important thing I’ve learned here. And that is the best advice I can give you all today. “

To ensure that our mission is not only aspirational but actionable we created something brand new in the life of Lowcountry Prep: our very first Portrait of a Graduate.
This tool provides a shared vision of the qualities, skills, and values we believe every student should develop during their time here. It is both a compass and a promise a way to align our teaching, programming, and culture around the kind of young people we are working together to raise.
This Portrait of a Graduate is not a checklist—it is a vision of growth. It’s a reflection of our belief that education is not simply about what students know, but about who they become. It will serve as a vital guidepost as we design learning experiences assess our programs and support s 1

We invited our senior class of 2025 to reflect on this Portrait and help us bring it to life in their own words. Together, this group of 15 students crafted definitions for each of the six key traits, capturing not just what these words mean on paper, but how they resonate in practice.
This personalized expression from our seniors is not only inspiring, it’s affirming. It shows us that the Portrait of a Graduate is not an abstract ideal, but something our students can understand, embody, and articulate as they prepare to enter the world…and the world needs more people like this.

As Lowcountry Preparatory School approached its 30th anniversary during the 2025-2026 academic year, our community came together in a meaningful way to honor three decades of academic excellence, connection, and growth In celebration of this milestone, LPS successfully established the $30,000 30th Anniversary Scholarship Fund

This scholarship fund strengthened our commitment to accessibility by supporting families who value a learning environment where students are challenged academically, supported personally, and prepared for purposeful lives. Made possible through the generosity of our alumni, parents, grandparents, and friends, the fund expanded opportunity within our community and helped ensure that deserving students had increased access to the distinctive advantages of a Lowcountry Preparatory School education.
We are deeply grateful to all who contributed to this effort. Their support not only celebrated our past but also made a lasting investment in the future of the next generation of Marlins

Small class sizes are the foundation of our approach Your generosity helps us maintain low student-to-teacher ratios, creating space for personalized instruction and meaningful relationships
Behind every thriving student is an inspired teacher. Donations strengthen our ability to recruit, support, and retain the very best educators who bring passion, innovation, and dedication to their classrooms
Expand Opportunities Beyond the Classroom

This year, we made intentional improvements to our campus that reflect both responsible stewardship of our resources and a deep commitment to student experience. By thoughtfully repurposing existing spaces, we were able to expand our art facilities and create dedicated classrooms for both visual art and music, ensuring that these essential programs now have environments designed to support creativity, collaboration, and growth.
In addition, our gymnasium received several meaningful upgrades The gym floor was resurfaced and redesigned, giving the space a fresh, modern look while improving safety and performance for our students and athletes We also updated the flooring in the gym lobby, enhancing both the functionality and the welcoming feel of one of our most highly trafficked spaces on campus.
This past year, we bid farewell to all three of our mobile classrooms, structures that have been part of our campus since the school's early days These classrooms have been a space for learning, growth, and countless memories, and our students had the opportunity to send them off with well wishes, dreams, and reflections
While we say goodbye, we are excited that these classrooms will continue to serve a meaningful purpose. Each was relocated to charitable organizations around the area Knowing that they will continue to provide a space for learning and connection makes this transition even more special.
