Hello, Marlin Community!

Happy Graduation Day! We are so proud of our Senior Marlins and wish them the best of luck next year at college. You will always have a home at Lowcountry. To the rest of our students, have a fantastic summer break! We can wait to see you all in the fall for another amazing year. To every parent, student, and staffer, thank you for everything this year. It has been such an honor to serve our school this year.

CLASSROOM ACTIVITIES Lower School Fraction fun with friends in Fifth!!!Learning is more fun with games and manipulatives…comparing & ordering fractions, finding common denominators, and reviewing fraction rules, all in one lesson!

Lower School With the help of baking soda, vinegar, and Ms. West, the Kindergarten class turned into engineers as they explored chemical reactions and motion by launching their own mini rockets!

Upper School The return of the king! Mr. Fawcett, who left Lowcountry two years ago to teach in Indonesia, stopped by for a visit. During his time on campus, he caught up with former students, played disc golf with Mr. Strong's Disc Golf Club, and talked to the Honors Biology class about biodiversity and the island biogeography of Indonesia!

Upper School

Strategy met math in Polar Coordinate Battleship for our Junior AP Precalculus class!

Schoolwide

Holy cow! To celebrate our last day of Chick-fil-A lunches this year, the Chick-fil-A cow stopped by for high fives, photo ops, and lots of fun!

FIELD TRIPS K5 AT ALLIGATOR ADVENTURE

In early April, the Kindergarten class went on a fun field trip to Alligator Adventure. They got to see and learn more about all sorts of animals, including alligators, crocodiles, mountain lions, flamingos, and macaws.

5TH AND 6TH GRADERS AT CAMP BOB COOPER

The 5th and 6th grade had an unforgettable time on our annual school trip to Camp Bob Cooper. From archery and rock-wall climbing to a night hike and campfire fun, they got to dive into hands-on science lessons while bonding and making lifelong memories.

SCISA EVENTS State Golf Tournament

Congratulations to the Lowcountry Golf Team on placing 4th at the SCISA Golf Championship. This year’s golf team is led by seniors Lilly Anguelova, Griffin Ballard, and Jack Francke!

State Science Fair

In April, our school-wide science fair winners headed off to the States competition.

SCHOOL EVENTS Field Breakfast Day &with Color Santa Run While our Upper School students worked hard taking their exams, the Lower What School do you get when you mix sunshine, wild colors, put in the good work to host a and nonstop games? The most unforgettable day of the year! Our Color breakfast with Santa.

Sponsored by the K-5,Run/Field Students Day was a total blast from the first enjoyed muffins, donuts, splash and of color to the final tug-of-war.

SCHOOL EVENTS Teacher Appreciation Week

With delicious lunches, coffee, thoughful notes, and fun photo ops, Teacher Appreciation Week was nothing short of magical. A huge thank you to the Lowcountry PTO for making this school a place where kindness and generosity are always center stage!

CLUB FEATURE FISHING CLUB

The Lowcountry Fishing Club got off to a great start this spring!

After Mr. Josh cleared the area around the lake, our 8th-10th graders got off the hook with Mr. Strong as they reeled in over 20 bass on their first outing.

TEACHER SPOTLIGHTS LOWER, MIDDLE, & UPPER SCHOOL Ms. Becky Schroeder Hi! I'm Ms. Schroeder and this is my ninth year teaching middle and upper school science at LPS. Originally from upstate New York, I graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with degrees in Physics & Astronomy and Environmental Studies. While in college, I conducted research for four years in Pitt's Chemistry Department and presented at two national conferences. After college, I lived in Washington D.C. and Costa Rica while obtaining dual-M.A. degrees in Natural Resources & Sustainable Development and International Affairs from American University and the Universidad para la Paz. Before coming to LPS, I spent two years living in the coastal province of Manabi, Ecuador teaching English as a Foreign Language and doing reforestation work.

Outside of work, I enjoy traveling, reading, writing, hiking, and stargazing.
