L’elaborazione di una sorta di “piano regolatore” del villaggio parte dal pensiero di una prima azione, fisicamente calibrata per lo specifico luogo sia per quanto riguarda lo spaziotempo sia per le funzioni principali. L’intero processo di ricostruzione inizierebbe con la costruzione (a carico di un ente pubblico) di una spina infrastrutturale in grado di sostenere gli abitanti nelle esigenze di prima necessità dal punto di vista energetico e del fabbisogno idrico. Inoltre darebbe avvio ad un “urbanistica del villaggio” in grado di risparmiare suolo produttivo, impostando alcune regole per lo sviluppo e costruendo negli interstizi urbani una forma compatta e non più incontrollata.

Questo lavoro deriva da un’attenta analisi del tessuto urbano dei villaggi di queste zone, spesso caratterizzati da nessun tipo di recinzione o divisorio di proprietà. In assenza di un vero e proprio limite, se non quello dell’abitazione esistente, il progetto ha considerato la proprietà terriera

The elaboration of a sort of “master plan” of the village therefore from the thought of a first action, physically calibrated for the specific place both in terms of space-time and for the main functions. The entire process of reconstruction would begin with the construction (at the expense of a public body) of an infrastructural plug able to support the inhabitants in the basic needs of energy and water needs. It would also start a “village town planning” able to save productive land, setting some rules for development, building a compact and no longer uncontrolled shape in the urban interstices.

This work derives from a careful analysis of the urban fabric of the villages of these areas, often characterized by no type of fence or partition of properties. In the absence of a real limit, if not that of the existing home, the project considered land ownership as a limit. Exactly above it is built the wall that represents the first action of the strategy. Inside the wall contains the pipes of the

quale limite. Esattamente sopra di essa è costruito il muro che rappresenta così la prima azione della strategia. Al suo interno il muro contiene le tubazioni del sistema idrico e quelli del sistema energetico.

Nel primo caso studio si cerca di risolvere e di migliorare la gestione della risorsa idrica dedicata all’agricoltura. Infatti uno dei principali problemi che la FAO aveva evidenziato in un rapporto del 2017 era l’esubero di perforazioni nel terreno per la ricerca di acqua per sostenere la produzione agricola danneggiata negli ultimi anni dalla siccità dei cambiamenti climatici. Il deposito di acqua sotterranea si ricarica attraverso un sistema di corsi d’acqua provenienti dalle catene montuose e passanti sotto lo strato argilloso al confine tra la pianura e le montagne. Il deposito ha sempre rappresentato una risorsa come dimostra la tecnologia dei Qanat, originaria proprio di queste zone. Successivamente si sono sviluppati sistemi all’avanguardia per la captazione delle piogge e dei

water system and those of the energy system. In the first case study we try to solve and improve the management of water resources dedicated to agriculture. In fact, one of the main problems that FAO had highlighted in a report in 2017 was the excess of drilling in the ground to search for water to support agricultural production damaged in recent years by the drought of climate change. fiumi (risorse primarie). Dal 1989 in poi, attraverso l’uso di pompe a carburante diesel si è ottenuto un maggiore sfruttamento delle falde acquifere che però hanno un tempo di ricarica non sostenibile per le necessità insediate.

Il progetto risponde a questa situazione attraverso una gestione diversificata dei vari tipi di acqua possibili per i diversi tipi di utilizzo, tenendo sempre presente quale obbiettivo finale quello di sostenere o implementare il serbatoio di acqua necessario al singolo villaggio sia per l’uso domestico, sia per la produzione agricola. In questo ciclo viene introdotto il sistema di captazione dell’acqua piovana e l’uso delle piante per una fitodepurazione, puntando a ridurre e concentrare i punti di estrazione dell’acqua sotterranea e a riutilizzare il maggior numero di litri pro capite per uso domestico.

Il sistema energetico altresì è tecnologicamente più aggiornato rispetto a quello esistente. Il progetto prevede l’introduzione di impianti foto-

The project responds to this situation through a diversified management of the various types of water possible for different types of use, always keeping in mind which final goal is to support or implement the water tank necessary for the individual village for both domestic use and for agricultural production. In this cycle the rainwater collection system and the use of plants for phytodepuration are introduced, aiming to reduce and concentrate the points of extraction of the underground water and to reuse the greatest number of liters per capita for domestic use.

The energy system is also technologically more updated than the existing one. The project involves the introduction of photovoltaic systems for the electricity required for both homes and for the extraction, pumping and water distribution machines.

voltaici per l’energia elettrica necessaria sia per le abitazioni e sia per le macchine di estrazione, pompaggio e distribuzione dell’acqua. Lo sfruttamento dei residui della lavorazione agricola, i rifiuti organici della casa ed il letame animale come carburante di centrali a biogas di piccole dimensioni per cucinare e per rifornire di carburante i mezzi agricoli. A completamento del sistema per l’autosufficienza viene introdotto anche un processo di cogenerazione per la produzione di elettricità e per il riscaldamento delle case.

La produzione energetica è resa possibile grazie ad una consistente attività agricola in quest’area geografica che prima della crisi aveva un sistema produttivo-commerciale di grande importanza. Secondo la valutazione della Mercy Crops eseguita sulla regione dell’ Al Hasakah nell’ottobre del 2015 si capisce che fino al 2010 la coltivazione principale, ovvero il grano, raggiungeva quasi il 40% della produzione nazionale.

Energy production is made possible thanks to a substantial agricultural activity in this geographical area which, before the crisis, had a very important production-commercial system. According to the evaluation of the Mercy Crops carried out on the Al Hasakah region in October 2015 it is understood that until 2010 the main crop, or wheat, reached almost 40% of the national production. To support agriculture, the project envisages an improvement in the water distribution to the fields through drip irrigation, making the system more effective.

On the opposite page there is a hypothesis of a water and a spatial plan on a single property comprising several houses already connected to hectares of land. The design strategy can be read in two steps: the

l’agricoltura il progetto prevede un miglioramento della distribuzione idrica verso i campi attraverso l’irrigazione a goccia rendendo più efficace il sistema.

Nella pagina a fianco un’ipotesi di progetto dal punto di vista idrico e spaziale su di una singola proprietà terriera comprendente varie abitazioni già collegate ad ettari di terreno. La strategia progettuale può essere letta in due gradi: la piccola scala, ovvero quella della singola proprietà con il muro di servizio; la grande scala, cioè quella del villaggio o del sistema di più villaggi che insieme formano un macrorganismo territoriale/ regionale in grado di garantire un processo di ricostruzione fisica e sociale lento ma efficace, generando una nuova opportunità di riattivazione del processo economico.

Il concetto del muro di servizio, della miglior gestione del ciclo dell’acqua, dell’uso di energia rinnovabile e del riutilizzo di risorse (o scarti produttivi) in loco vuole dimostrare una strategia sostenibile vincente per questo villaggio tipo ed essere il principio di una linea comune per tutto il territorio circostante aventi caratteristiche, risorse, problemi e necessità simili.

The concept of the service wall, the best management of the water cycle, the use of renewable energy and the reuse of resources (or production waste) on site will demonstrate a winning sustainable strategy for this typical village and be the principle of a common line for all the surrounding territory having similar characteristics, resources, problems and needs.
