Letter from the President

Hello Team Loyalty,

Wow, we had a great August! We had a ton of wins; overall company revenue Loyalty Pawn all-time high, Florin sales revenue Loyalty Pawn all-time high and they have hit their sales goals for two months in a row, Roseville Sales revenue alltime high (except December of 2018 off by $700) also have hit their sales goal for two month in a row, corporate/scrap sales $2000 off an all-time high we have hit our sales goal every month this year except for January, our Pawn Service Fees was the second highest in Loyalty Pawn but the highest for the year. Our Pawn Balance is also at an all-time high! CONGRATULATIONS to everyone for hitting these great numbers let’s keep the momentum going. Some more great news. Governor Newsom signed our revenue bill AB1186. So, effective January 1, 2020 we will be getting a modest increase to our rates and fee structure which will add to the bottom line and help play for all the regulation bills that the Governor also signed. This increase will touch our ticket writing fee, storage fees and reminder letters. Being in California we are still one of the lowest yielding states in the nation, however we know what we are doing and we are growing every month so even in this low interest state we are in a tremendous business.

We will also be implementing several new takeaways from the conference Wayne and I attended, as well as a focus group trip to visit a four store chain in Chicago that will be attended by Wayne and Javier and the Fall CAPA convention in Long Beach at the end of this month. I know the rest of the year will be an exciting as we implement new ideas we have learned, watch all of our goals getting obtained and continuing to build our amazing culture.

Thank You Team Loyalty,

A Letter from the General Manager

Hello Everyone,

Back to school! I’m excited that we can start to look forward to fall weather! August sure flew by and I’m sure September will do the same. We are steadily increasing many aspects of business. Since the beginning of the year, we have seen a growth of new customers stopping by our locations which has resulted in more business. We have had fantastic loan growth this year as well. We look forward to a busy end of the third quarter and a productive 4 th quarter. One of the upticks in business has resulted many of you to increase your customer contacts in your follow up binder. This is increasing the stores sales while helping grow individuals’ sales incentives. It is nice to see that we can help fulfill the jewelry needs of the stores to help with our customer wants!

Some noteworthy successes to mention. We have had excellent sales for the month of August! The top three leaders were Dominic T. who sold $29,810.00, Tony F. sold $18,400.00 and Dylan T. sold $17,065.00. We are still open to fulfill store needs and requests for inventory. We want to supply the locations with our customers needs so please keep your customer want lists up to date.

Also, we have been focusing and will continue to focus on our sales. Weekly you will have training opportunities to capture and refresh industry knowledge with webex videos. All these videos will be shared by your management team. This is another tool that we absolutely value and will continue to use moving forward. We have high hopes that these tools will better prepare everyone in handling and dealing with jewelry and other general goods.

If you haven’t heard already, the Managers have read the Can’t hurt Me by David Goggins. This was truly an excellent book of no excuses. We invite everyone to get involved at their stores in a book club to help with personal and business growth. For the month of September, the Managers are reading Daring Greatly by Brené Brown. Each one of us has unique relatable takeaways from the books we read and aspire to incorporate some of the lessons within ourselves. If this interests you, please reach out to your manager for more details.

Loyalty Pawn Family

Loyalty Family, August is over and what a great month we had. Our Loyalty family is growing as many of you have probably heard Marcos from the Florin store’s baby was born. She was born July 17th, 2019 weighing in at 8.2lbs and she was 20” long from what we hear from Marcos she loves to sleep. Mother Rachel is doing great with new baby Pricilla. Congratulations to the new parents I know we can’t wait to meet our newest member of the family. Now back to business, those loan balance continue to climb at a tremendous rate and so is gold prices. I haven’t seen prices like this in years! This is a great opportunity really qualify our clients when they are coming in. A simple question to use could be “would you like to get a loan or sell it for more money?” Lots of times they aren’t really familiar with the terminology and when they come in saying pawn sometimes, they think that means sell. I’m excited to see that more and more people are starting to hit their sales goals and the store numbers reflect that. Let’s all keep up the great work and stay focused. The last book the Managers read for book club was “Can’t Hurt Me” by David Goggins. I personally couldn’t put this book down; I highly recommend listening to it this book dives right into sell motivation and mental strength. This is the first time I’ve ever listened to a book that was also a podcast I must say it was really interesting. This month we are going to get to know Ryan Hall the assistant manager of the Roseville location. Ryan has been in the Pawn industry since June 2011. He got the job recommended by a family friend while he was a baseball coach for Parker Hush and Jon Gaulpe. Ryan was born in Sacramento CA on May 18th, 1992. He was raised in Carmichael along with his younger brother Tim. Baseball is more than just a game in his family it’s something that runs in the family. Ryan’s father, brother and himself all played the sport all the way up the college level. Playing baseball allowed him to travel a lot he has been to places like Alaska, Louisiana and all over the US other places visited were the Dominican Republic and Mexico. One of his favorite places to go to was Louisiana especially because of the food was delicious, people were great, and the fish were dumb. He liked Louisiana so much he one day plans to retire out there someday. Ever since his first memories Ryan can remember two things, he used to do with the family baseball and fishing. He must have been only 2 or 3 at the time but one of his first memories on the water, he was on the Delta with the family having a good time and somehow, he fell off the boat. Luckily, he had his life jacket and wasn’t in too much danger, but he still remembers there was a houseboat next to him that had shark teeth painted on the side that kind of freaked him out a bit. His mom eventually saw him and pulled him out of the water. After that incident he’s been fishing ever since and hasn’t fallen off the boat anymore. When got a little older he always enjoyed fishing but never really saw this as something he could do for a living let alone make a pretty good career out of it. Fishing with some of his buddies who were already in the industry kind of gave him that push to pursue fishing as more than just a hobby. He was finally got convinced to do a pro- amateur competition where he beat 4 out of the 5 pros he faced off with. Not only did this build up his confidence but it also gave him that drive to start competing more frequently. This is the third year Ryan has been involved with a team tournament and this is a very special year for him and his fishing partner because they took the first-place trophy. This is defiantly going to open the doors for new and a lot more sponsorships and even get eyes on him for the next level of fishing.

El Camino

Team Loyalty,

El camino had a great month in August! We were a little short of our sales goal but we performed with the best of them! With some of the most productive employees and most deals done in the company El Camino was fighting in it weight class. We also had a small face lift in the parking lot and were able to get some of our smaller project done. We will be hitting and exceeding our goals this month and great things are in store for El Camino

September Fun Factoids

This month’s full Moon reaches peak fullness at 12:33 a.m. EDT on Saturday, September 14. Look skyward on the night of the 13th for the best view of this Full Harvest Moon!

As the ninth month of the year, September marks the beginning of autumn in the northern hemisphere. Traditionally considered the month that marks transitions between seasons, it is often one of the most temperate weather-wise. Here are some interesting facts about the month of September.

September has three birth flowers: the forget-me-not, the morning glory, and the aster. Forget-me-nots represent love and memories, asters represent love as well, and the morning glory represents unrequited love. The birthstone for the month is the sapphire.

September has several United States and international holidays.

• Labor Day is the most well-known holiday in September. It is observed every year on the first Monday in September.

• Native American Day is always celebrated on the 4th Friday of September.

• Grandparent's Day is observed in the United States on the first Sunday after Labor Day.

• Constitution Day, celebrating the ratification of the governing document of the United States is observed on the 17th.

• The autumn equinox, which is the traditional transition from summer into fall, takes place on or around September 22nd, depending on the year.

There are lots of days dedicated to fun activities in September. Look out for these days.

• September 5th: National Cheese Pizza Day

• September 9th: National Teddy Bear Day

• September 16th: National Play-Doh Day

• September 19th: International "Talk Like A Pirate Day” (My personal favorite!)
