Let’s gather and have fun at The House of Blues. It’s Auction time! The theme, COME TOGETHER, is perfect for this annual event that brings us together to support our school while continuing to build our strong community. This year we will celebrate all things British.
You will have the opportunity to bid on incredible items and experiences while enjoying time together with Lamplighter parents, alumni, faculty, and staff.
A special thank you to our LPA Auction Co-Chairs Mayela Gonzalez and Mary Catherine Unis, and Event Chair Barrell Jones. Together with a team of talented volunteers, they have worked countless hours to ensure the Auction’s success. They have spent many months making sure the Auction is an event for all families to enjoy. I am deeply grateful to these parents and our team of volunteers for their time and talent.
Lamplighter is a community of dedicated teachers, staff, and exceptional parents who all work together to enrich our students’ lives. Let’s COME TOGETHER to celebrate our love of Lamplighter! Thank you in advance for adding your bid in support of our great school.
Cheerio,
Joan Buchanan Hill, Ed.D. Catherine M. Rose Head of SchoolIt feels like years since it’s been here! It’s time to COME TOGETHER to share our love for and to celebrate all things Lamplighter. This year, our Silent Auction & Big Board items will be hosted through an online platform, allowing our school community to bid from the convenience of their phones and computers as early as Monday, February 20 at 6:00 p.m., and up until 10 p.m. on Sunday, February 26. The big event — our Live Auction — will take place the evening of Saturday, February 25 at the House of Blues. We promise you won’t want to miss the incredible chance to twist and shout the night away!
We wanted to take this opportunity to express our gratitude to three very special groups.
First, this wonderful event would not be possible without the unwavering support of the LPA Auction Committee members who have invested their time and talents over the last year to make COME TOGETHER such a success.
Next, thank you to the incredible network of alumni, current and past parents, grandparents, and special friends who continue to show up for their Lamplighter community each year. Your generosity is overwhelming.
Lastly, thank you to our Lamplighter faculty and staff. An exemplary education requires an extraordinary team to COME TOGETHER. Fortunately for us, we have the very best. On behalf of the entire Lamplighter Parents’ Association, we would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for pouring your hearts into our school’s continued success. We are honored to watch our children learn and grow in such an incredible place.
All you need is love . . . and Lamplighter.
Happy bidding!

DJ LUCY WRUBEL likes a good party! She’s a voracious collector of eclectic tunes. An observer of spirited dance moves. And a fanatic for the finest groove. She loves music. All kinds, really!
The LPA is thrilled to welcome Lamplighter alumna Lucy Reeves Wrubel ’78 as this year’s live entertainment for the Auction. For the last 20 years, Lucy has been a highly sought-after international DJ, and has always loved to share her work with the Lamplighter community.
Outside of her professional career as a DJ and actress, including work with the famed Groundlings Improv Troupe, Lucy has dedicated her time and talents to support Lamplighter. She served on the Alumni Council from 2008 – 2015, including leadership as President of the Alumni Association from 2009 – 2010. Lucy is a 2021-2022 recipient of the Lamplighter Spirit Award and parent to Lamplighter alumna Stella Wrubel ’16.

Miles Goldberg Wholesale Diamonds & Jewelry
No green thumb needed! This no-maintenance modern arrangement of preserved mood moss with white quartz points in a 10” round white planter is the perfect accessory to any table!
Raffle tickets are $50 each or five for $200. Tickets will be available at the Auction, Saturday, February 25, 2023, or you can purchase tickets online at www.thelamplighterschool.org/auction. The live drawing* will take place during Lamplighter’s auction gala, COME TOGETHER.
*Winner does not need to be present to win.
Before the Live Auction starts, the auctioneer will ask everyone who has purchased a blinky ring to come out on the dance floor to start the game. The auctioneer will flip a coin and everyone will need to predict whether it will fall “Heads or Tails.” You will make your prediction public by placing your hands on your head or your tail. If you are correct, you will keep standing. But if you are wrong, you are out and must sit down. If, however, you purchased more than one ring, you have an extra chance. So, you just remove one of your rings and keep playing. The last person standing wins!
Raffle Guidelines:
The IRS considers the RAFFLE to be similar to a lottery or sweepstakes. Unlike a charitable donation, capital campaign, or the Lamplighter Fund – in which there is generally charitable intent – PURCHASING A TICKET is akin to gambling and, hence, it is not a charitable gift despite the “charitable” overtones of the Auction event. No charitable deduction is allowed when a ticket is purchased. Picture ID is required of the winner.
All taxes, fees, insurance, and like charges associated with the receipt or use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner and must be satisfied BEFORE taking possession of the prize. A Raffle winner may decline a prize but the individual must do so at the time of announcement. Lamplighter and its sponsors are not responsible for any damages or personal claims. Additional terms and conditions may apply.
