How To Play
Raffle tickets are $50 each or five for $200. Tickets will be available at the Auction, Saturday, February 25, 2023, or you can purchase tickets online at www.thelamplighterschool.org/auction. The live drawing* will take place during Lamplighter’s auction gala, COME TOGETHER.
*Winner does not need to be present to win.
Before the Live Auction starts, the auctioneer will ask everyone who has purchased a blinky ring to come out on the dance floor to start the game. The auctioneer will flip a coin and everyone will need to predict whether it will fall “Heads or Tails.” You will make your prediction public by placing your hands on your head or your tail. If you are correct, you will keep standing. But if you are wrong, you are out and must sit down. If, however, you purchased more than one ring, you have an extra chance. So, you just remove one of your rings and keep playing. The last person standing wins!
Raffle Guidelines:
The IRS considers the RAFFLE to be similar to a lottery or sweepstakes. Unlike a charitable donation, capital campaign, or the Lamplighter Fund – in which there is generally charitable intent – PURCHASING A TICKET is akin to gambling and, hence, it is not a charitable gift despite the “charitable” overtones of the Auction event. No charitable deduction is allowed when a ticket is purchased. Picture ID is required of the winner.
All taxes, fees, insurance, and like charges associated with the receipt or use of the prize are the sole responsibility of the winner and must be satisfied BEFORE taking possession of the prize. A Raffle winner may decline a prize but the individual must do so at the time of announcement. Lamplighter and its sponsors are not responsible for any damages or personal claims. Additional terms and conditions may apply.
