Imaginen estar proximo a ese cambio de estatus o a traer ese familiar que por tanto tiempo ha esperado y que el proceso se vea interrumpido por la falta de atención y conocimiento de estos cambios.

Los cambios que estamos hablando se deben a personas que tienen algún asunto pendiente con el Departamento de Rentas Internas (IRS) que no esta siendo atendido al presente.

PRIMER CAMBIO: Su pasaporte esta en juego. Si usted es ciudadano americano, le debe mas de $50,000 al IRS y no esta en un proceso de pagos o negociación de deuda con ellos esta en riesgo de perder su pasaporte.

Hay momentos en que las deudas al IRS no son correctas o validas. En los anos que llevamos ayudando a personas o negocios con sus declaraciones de impuestos hemos visto como la mala información o manejo de la misma puede constarle miles y miles de dólares en impuestos innecesariamente.

NO TENER SUS CUENTAS AL DIA CON EL IRS LE PUEDE COSTAR SU PASAPORTE AMERICANO O SU ESTATUS MIGRATORIO

SEGUNDO CAMBIO: Su estatus migratorio esta en peligro. Si usted esta en un proceso migratorio para tener status o cambiar el mismo, incluyendo la aplicación a una ciudadania o petición a un familiar, este proceso va a depender de que su cuenta este al día con el IRS. No sea sorprendido por la aplicación de estos procedimientos en las leyes de impuestos. Conozca y arregle cualquier problema pendiente con el IRS que no este siendo atendido adecuadamente.

Como todos sabemos, el pasado 22 de Diciembre del 2017 se aprobó la nueva reforma de impuestos de los Estados Unidos de Norte A m e r i c a “ Ta x C u t s a n d J o b s A c t ” . E s t a h a s i d o u n a d e l a s m a y o r e s y mas agresivas reformas tributarias de este país. La complejidad de las leyes de impuestos ha ido creciendo exponencialmente a través del tiempo con cada uno de los cambios en las leyes impositivas.

De hecho como dato curioso la forma que se usaba para los impuestos personales en el año 1913 contaba con solo seis lineas de información para determinar el ingreso sujeto a impuestos. Y solo se pagaban impuestos en ingresos mayores de $20,000 y el impuesto era de 1%. La forma existente para el 2017 (104 anos después) tiene 42 lineas antes de llegar al ingreso sujeto a impuestos y el impuesto mínimo es de 10%. Como se han complicado las cosas.

Esta y otras reformas anteriores tienen cambios que se van activando a través de los periodos donde aplican. En estos días se han hecho activos dos de estos cambios y poco se ha hablando de ellos, pero afectan a todos los contribuyentes.

Estos cambios pueden traer la mayor tristeza y desespero a muchas familias pero no tiene que ser asi. De hecho puede arruinar esas vacaciones tan anheladas al exterior, donde se pueden perder cientos o miles de dólares en pasajes y gastos de viajes ya pagados que se vean afectados por causa de un pasaporte cancelado a último minuto.

Imaginen presentarse al aeropuerto o al puerto para desembarque y recibir la noticia de que su pasaporte ha sido cancelado. Esto no tiene que ser así. Los cambios también pueden afectar ese proceso migratorio tan anhelado, donde un status por conseguir, un cambio de status o residencia, o un mismo cambio de residencia a ciudadania se vea afectado por los cambios de estas leyes tributarias.

El diseñador de interiores de las celebridades, Martin Amado, lanza su libro de decoración “One-Day Room Makeovers” Martin Amado, experto en diseño, también conocido como el “Makeover Maestro”, lanza su primer libro “One-Day Room Makeovers” (Page Street Publishing), la guía perfecta y fácil de usar para que cada persona pueda hacer por sí mismo la decoración de su hogar, de una manera fácil, sencilla y rápida. El libro será lanzado el martes, 17 de julio de 2018.

artin Amado revela en su primer libro de autor un método de 3 pasos para crear una transformación dramática de ambiente en un solo día, como lo hace en los hogares de sus clientes. Desde las paredes, hasta los muebles o accesorios, Amado quiere que sus lectores aprendan a decorar sus habitaciones sin importar el estilo, de la manera que lo hace un diseñador de interiores.

“Lanzar el libro ‘One-Day Room Makeovers’ ha sido mi gran sueño desde hace 15 años. Primero, pensé que lo publicaría en español, pero me siento bendecido de que haya sido en inglés, para así alcanzar a una mayor audiencia”, dice Martin Amado.

“Decidí dividir el proceso de diseño en tres partes para que las personas puedan tener un acercamiento profesional a cada proyecto decorativo de la misma manera que lo hago yo. En mi opinión, no puedes tener una habitación decorada completamente, a menos que pongas en práctica estos tres pasos”, explica el ‘Makeover Maestro’.

Actualmente, Martin aparece cada sábado, a las 11 de la mañana, en el programa SoFlo Home Project, de ABC Miami. Antes de eso, su rostro comenzó a ser reconocido por su gran ingenio al transformar hogares en el segmento “Room for Improvement”, que se emitió por Fox, Miami, durante 11 años consecutivos.

El libro “One-Day Room Makeovers” está repleto de fotografías e ilustraciones a color, con consejos prácticos de decoración y proyectos ‘DIY’ o ‘Hazlo tú mismo’, para demostrar que puede ser fácil decorar el hogar, con menos tiempo y dinero.

“Pienso que hay una idea equivocada que la decoración es una tarea que toma mucho tiempo y es tediosa. Nicolle Erazo 1. FAILING TO PLAN Have you heard of the saying “failing to plan is planning to fail” ? Well, there is a lot of truth in this, especially, when it comes to nutrition. In today’s society, we live “on-the-go” and most of the time we decide to rely on our will and make choices as we go through our day.If you are considering to begin a healthier lifestyle, my best advice is to plan and make the choices head of time before its too late. Get rid of trigger foods in your kitchen. Know what you will have during the week and if you can prep some of these beforehand, do it. If you are someone who eats at restaurants a lot, look for healthy restaurants in the area in which you would be most of the week or know what healthy options you have in their menu. Life happens, and you cant plan absolutely everything in your week, and its fine, but at least the majority of it should be taken care of. Don't just leave your nutrition to chance.

MORE IS NOT ALWAYS BETTER One of the most common mistakes I see when it comes to starting a new weight loss diet is to make all the changes and restrict ourselves from everything that has been a habit in our life, all at once. We know that to lose weight we need to be in a deficit of calories, however, it is important to understand that “more” is not always “better”. Creating a big deficit in our calories can also have side effects such as fatigue, irritability, low energy and affect our hormones and metabolism.

Small and steady changes will always take you a long way. Focusing on building good habits and being consistent will ensure that not only you obtain the results you want, but you can also maintain them. Always think of the big picture.

3. THE SCALE DOESN’T HAVE THE LAST WORD The scale is only one of many forms to measure progress, but there are also many factors that may affect the result on the scale.

Water intake, bowel movements, sodium intake, hormonal balance are some of the many factors that can affect the number on the scale.

I encourage you to also rely on other methods that can show you progress. Some of these methods are pictures, how your clothes fits, energy level, and even measurements.

4. RELYING ON SUPPLEMENTS The supplement world is a huge industry that wants us to believe that there is that one pill, powder or oil that will make our fat-loss quicker and easier. The truth is that in the scheme of all things in nutrition, supplements take that back seat. There are not enough fat burners, thermogenics, or appetite suppressants that can help you if the basis of your nutrition is not a healthy diet, and by healthy, I mean consuming all your nutrients from whole foods and making sure that you are not lacking any important macronutrient or micronutrient.

Remember that supplements are only an addition to your fundamentals.

As you can notice, I have been mentioning “journey” when I refer to weightloss diet.

Mainly, because this is how I encourage my clients to visualize it. Everyone’s journey is different, there are some diets that might work for some people, that might not work for others and you don't have to be discouraged.

Find a diet that works with your lifestyle, your needs and that helps you adhere to it better.

Be aware of how you feel and how is affecting your body in the long term. The quick fixes are not always the best ones when it comes to our health. If you don't know where or how to start always do your research from reliable sources or look for a coach that can guide you and hold you accountable. Remember, it is your health and your body, you are the ultimate person responsible for it.

Una vez diagnosticado, ¿cómo se trata el cáncer de próstata?

Existen muchas opciones diferentes para el tratamiento del cáncer de próstata. Estas dependen de la etapa en la que se encuentre el cáncer y de la edad del paciente. Para el cáncer en etapa temprana en hombres más jóvenes, el “estándar de oro” es la prostatectomía robótica realizada por un urólogo experimentado. Live Doral Magazine recently spoke with Sanjay Razdan, MD, MCh, one of the nation’s top urology physicians and Director of Robotic Urology at miVIP Surgery Centers in Florida, to get an understanding of best practices for prostate cancer treatment. Dr. Razdan explained the importance of early detection, the benefits of robotic prostatectomy, and his recommendations for managing prostate health.

Who is most likely to get prostate cancer?

Family history of prostate cancer is the single most important risk factor for developing prostate cancer. If anyone in your family like your father, brother or cousin have prostate cancer, you are at risk and need to be checked. In addition, African American men and Hispanics have a higher incidence of prostate cancer. Besides these genetic and racial factors, being overweight, lack of exercise, and smoking put you at risk for developing prostate cancer.

You spoke about prostate cancer screening, what’s that?

Screening is a test done to diagnose a disease before it is clinically apparent. We have a convenient blood test called prostate specific antigen, or PSA for prostate cancer.

When combined with a prostate exam by your urologist, this screening can help in early diagnosis and prompt treatment of prostate cancer, saving many lives.

How common is prostate cancer and how does it present itself?

Prostate cancer is the second most common cause of cancer-related death in America. One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer in their lifetime. Most patients with early stage prostate cancer have no symptoms, which is why early detection is key. Urinary symptoms like frequent urination, straining, poor urinary stream and blood in the urine and semen are red flags that need urologic consultation. The goal is EARLY DETECTION with prostate cancer screening that involves a simple blood test and a prostate exam with your urologist.

So, a simple blood test can go a long way in preventing deaths from this disease?

Yes, we recommend that anyone over 50 years of age get a PSA evaluation done if he is concerned about his urological health. The genetic and racial factors mentioned earlier put you at higher risk and you may need to be screened at an earlier age, sometimes as early as age 40.

Once diagnosed, how do you treat prostate cancer?

There are many different options for treatment of prostate cancer dependent on the stage of the cancer and the age of the patient. For early stage cancer in younger men the “gold standard” is robotic prostatectomy performed by an experienced urologist.

Besides robotic prostate surgery, radiation and cryoablation (freezing) are other options to treat localized prostate cancer. Even in advanced disease, robotic prostate surgery sometimes prolongs life and improves the quality of life.

Could you elaborate more on the role of robots in treatment of prostate cancer?

The da Vinci® Robotic System has revolutionized the treatment of prostate cancer. The system’s computer screen provides the surgeon with 3D vision and 10X magnification for better visibility which, along with increased manual dexterity and high-precision instruments, translates to better results. I understand you have done more than 5,500 robotic procedures. How has that helped you improve your results?

As in any field, practice makes perfect! I have been doing robotic prostate surgery for over 15 years now and have the unique distinction of being the highest volume robotic prostate surgeon in South Florida.

Over the years I have modified my technique to improve results in terms of cancer cure, urinary continence and sexual function. We were the “first in the world” to use human amniotic membrane to enhance recovery of sexual function after robotic prostatectomy.

Our technique of Maximal Urethral Length Preservation (MULP) has resulted in rapid return of urinary control. Over 95% of our patients have urinary control within days to weeks of surgery, and the vast majority have return of sexual function within 3-6 months.

What are the possible side effects of surgery and can they be prevented?

The most common side effects could be urinary incontinence and erectile dysfunction.

The most important insurance against these potential side effects is surgeon experience.

You mentioned early detection.

What can a man do to prevent prostate cancer?

Awareness about the disease and a healthy lifestyle are the cornerstones of prostate cancer prevention. Anything that is good for your heart is good for your prostate. Regular exercise, weight control, eating less saturated fats and red meat, and quitting smoking help reduce the risk of prostate cancer.

South Florida has a high incidence of kidney stone disease. What do you have to say on that?

Kidney stones are often related to lifestyle, but can have a genetic predisposition too. Stay well hydrated and limit foods that can promote kidney stone disease. For example, reduce your intake of high oxalate foods like spinach, and consume less red meat, salt and canned foods. Avoid carbonated drinks and iced tea. Take calcium supplements only as recommended by a physician.

Doral Contemporary Art Museum (DORCAM) nació formalmente el día 9 de noviembre del año pasado, según explica su cofundador Marcelo Llobell, quien lleva varios años en el trajinar de las exposiciones y en darle forma a esta institución que parece marcar el inicio de un verdadero desarrollo cultural para la ciudad “Para DORCAM trabajamos sobre un concepto que ya existe en otras partes, en ciudades como New York, por ejemplo, donde el museo inicialmente no tiene su propia colección y se establece en zonas industriales, en bodegas o warehouses, con un personal burocrático mínimo y con 28 L I V E D O R A L M A G A Z I N E . URGENT CARE, EMERGENCY CARE: FINDING THE RIGHT CARE

C

hoosing the kind of medical care you need depends on your situation. If you are injured or ill, going to the hospital emergency room (ER) may seem like an appropriate choice. But if you are not facing a real emergency, you may have other choices.

Hospitals typically provide a full range of services for common medical conditions as well as a level of emergency care. Urgent care centers offer medical care for conditions that need immediate attention, but are not life-threatening. And in a doctor’s office, patients usually receive personalized service due to an established working relationship.

You do not need an appointment to go to the ER, but you may have to wait if other patients have more pressing medical needs. Some hospitals use online scheduling tools such as InQuickER to post their ER waiting times so you can check before going to the hospital.

If you are experiencing a medical emergency, such as a heart attack or stroke, it is important

to call 911 for an ambulance instead of driving.

This allows emergency medical services to begin treatment immediately.

According to the American College of Emergency Physicians, warning signs of a medical emergency include: • Problems breathing • Chest or upper abdominal pain • Fainting or sudden dizziness • Changes in vision • Uncontrollable bleeding • Coughing or vomiting blood • Confusion or changes in mental status If you need medical care for a condition that is not serious or life-threatening, you may want to go an urgent care center when you cannot see your primary doctor right away.

These centers typically provide treatment for minor illnesses, cuts, burns, puncture wounds, fractures, bites, stings, sprains and strains. They also may offer convenient on-site laboratory and X-rays, as well as

While the center offers convenience, there is a trade-off. Compared with your doctor’s office, center staff may not be familiar with your medical history and your records will not be on file if you are not a regular patient there.

Some centers also do not accept insurance from certain carriers. In addition, like an ER, you may have to wait at an urgent care center if other patients have more pressing medical needs. If your case is not severe and you prefer not to wait in line, schedule an appointment with your doctor’s office.

Ultimately, the hospital ER is the best place to be if you need emergency medical care. In other situations, depending on when they occur and your ability to make an appointment to see your doctor, an urgent care center may be a more convenient, less expensive, time-effective choice.

El triunfo de la diversidad cultural francesa en Rusia 2018, es una muestra a la sociedad de que permitiendo la inclusión de elementos de diferentes orígenes a la vida cotidiana de un país se podrían engrandecer las fortalezas de dicha nación en busca del bien común, y refiriéndonos al fútbol específicamente, podría dar como resultado la consecución de una Copa del mundo.

El éxito francés en el Mundial de 1998 fue imitado por otras potencia europeas, como por ejemplo, Alemania, Italia, España, Holanda, Portugal y en mayor medida Inglaterra, quien en la actualidad también cuenta con marcada presencia de futbolistas de ascendencia africana en sus distintas selecciones, cosechando importantes éxitos en el último año con la obtención de los Mundiales Sub15 y Sub17 de la FIFA, siendo semifinalistas en esta Copa Mundial y teniendo la firme intención de ser contendientes al titulo en Qatar 2022.

Seleccionados menos consagrados como Bélgica, Suiza, Suecia y Dinamarca, en mucha menor manera a excepción de los belgas, han

empezado a incluir dentro de sus estructuras futbolísticas a jugadores nacidos fuera de sus fronteras, o de origen extranjero, con muy buenos resultados para sus aspiraciones, como lo pudimos testificar en el último Mundial, con estos cuatro países dentro de los Octavos de Final y dejando muy buenas impresiones dentro del mismo.

Después de lo vivido en Rusia 2018, no parece tan alocado el proyecto We Can Fly, ideado por la Federación de Fútbol de los Estados Unidos en 1998 y que tenia como culmen la obtención del campeonato del mundo en 2010, pero que fue quedando en el camino por diferentes factores estratégicos, de desarrollo y de evolución del mismo, pero que definía como uno de sus criterios principales la captación e inclusión de jóvenes hispanos y afroamericanos, en busca del blindar al fútbol de las Barras y las Estrellas.

• 1/2 taza de mahonesa • 1 huevo batido • 1 cucharada de mostaza de Dijon • 1 cucharada de salsa Perrins • 1/2 cucharadita de sriracha • 400 gramos de carne de cangrejo fresca o en conserva • Perejil picado fianmente • 140 gramos de pan rallado panko • 1/2 taza de aceite de girasol

ELABORACIÓN 1 Ponemos en un bowl la mayonesa, la mostaza, el huevo, y las salsas, combinamos hasta obtener una masa suave.

2 En un segundo bowl mezclamos la carne de cangrejo con el pan rallado panko, el perejil picado y agregamos a la mezcla anterior. Cubrimos y dejamos en la nevera hasta el día siguiente.

3 Dividimos la masa en 8 porciones y damos a cada una la forma de hamburguesa de unos 3 centímetros de grosor, 4 Freímos en aceite de girasol durante unos 3 minutos por cada lado hasta que estén doradas.

5 Servimos calientes en panes de hamburguesa o simplemente solas en los platos con un poco de ensalada a tu gusto.
