Academic Progress & Success
Students will cultivate skills such as time management, study habits, and self-care that promote academic success through multifaceted curricular and co-curricular programs. Students will build a knowledge base to self-register each semester based on advising guidance from Success Coaches. Students will know and understand how to access all resources available to them on campus for Academic and personal support.

Career Readiness
Through consultation with their Success Coach, students will be able to decipher their personal interests, strengths, values, and skills to inform their academic and career paths. Students will know how to access all resources available to them on campus for career support and exploration. Students will develop a personal professional development plan. Students will be able to communicate their curricular and co-curricular experiences and transferrable skills gained in ways that will distinguish them in their application process. Long Island University provided over 4,000 student engagement opportunities in the 2021–22 academic year hosted by student organizations, the Division of Student Affairs, LIU Athletics, and the Tilles Center.

Highlights
• Held first in-person Homecoming on October 16, 2021, with more than 3,000 students and guests
• In a collaboration between the Division of Student Affairs and Academic Affairs, students enrolled in FM 25 Brand Management within the Fashion Merchandising program conceptualized a re-branding of the Student Body Boutique one of LIU’s student-run businesses to be implemented this summer
• Launched new Campus Life and Student Success websites to streamline student engagement
RESIDENCE LIFE
As a result of the creation and growth of in-demand academic and athletic programs, students residing in residence halls continue to increase and exceed pre-pandemic numbers. More than 1,500 students called LIU home during the 2021–2022 academic year.

• Residence hall enrollment exceeded pre-pandemic enrollment (25% at the Brooklyn Campus; 8% at the Post Campus)
• Installed high-speed wireless internet in all University residence halls and launched a new app-based television streaming service for all residential students, Apogee • Continued residential facilities upgrades with enhancements to lobbies, lounges, and dining facilities • Launched the Shark Bite lounge at the Post Campus Winnick Student Center as a late-night eatery and student programming space for evening and weekend events
NEW STUDENT ORIENTATION
New Student Orientation was held prior to the beginning of the 2021–2022 academic year. Programs were held for first-year, transfer, and graduate students, including international students. In addition, parents and families were invited to participate in Parent & Family Orientation.

COMMENCEMENT
Long Island University hosted in-person commencement ceremonies for the Class of 2022. The University celebrated graduates from LIU Post and Riverhead on May 10, 2022, at the Bethpage Federal Credit Union Stadium. The graduates of LIU Brooklyn, Global, Hudson, and Pharmacy were celebrated on May 16, 2022, at the Barclays Center.

STUDENT AFFAIRS ASSESSMENT
The Division of Student Affairs Assessment Steering Committee conducted several assessments during the 2021–2022 academic year regarding student progress through the co-curricular learning outcomes of Academic Progress & Success and Career Readiness, satisfaction with Enrollment services and LIU Promise customer service, and experiential surveys for residential students and new student orientation participants.
Highlights
• 70% of students reported understanding their degree requirements after working with success coach
• 66% of resident students reported being more likely to get involved in other campus activities
• After attending new student orientation, 97% of participants reported that they knew their assigned success coach; 85% reported that they knew all the resources and support available to them through their success coach
• 88% of respondents rated their service from Enrollment Services and LIU Promise as “Excellent” and 89% “Completely” or “Considerably” trusted the advice provided by their success coach
