CROSS-CURRICULAR LITERACY ACTIVITIES The cross-curricular opportunities for literacy teaching and learning which uses ICT are many and varied and the limit to what is feasible will be determined largely by the access to the software, hardware and the internet which the children have. Media Arts: Creating news images
Lesson Description Students are to browse a newspaper or an online news service. They are to choose an article that does not have a picture associated with it. After this, students are to create an image that relates to an aspect of the article. In constructing the image, students should consider using clip art, digital photographs and appropriate images found on the Internet.
Problem Statement Write your own problem statement to present to students remembering key use of ICT terminology and features.
Achievement Standards (English) • Understand how language features, images and vocabulary choices are used for different effects and; • Understand how language features and images are used to link and sequence ideas.
