Fall, Food, and October in Centennial
Fall is hands down the best in Colorado. My three favorite things? 1. Food, 2. Fall, and 3. October— and look what we have here! So, we’re celebrating the incredible food and drink scene right here in Centennial. In this Food & Drink Issue, we’re showcasing the local spots that make our community truly special. From quick bites to sit-down meals that create lasting memories, Centennial is full of hidden gems.
You will find a story about Savory Snackables. Where it isn’t just about charcuterie boards—Julie’s work provides opportunities for people with disabilities, helping them develop life skills and confidence. This story really touched deep into me and I had to highlight this incredible person and her business. We go on to spotlight Ladrón Cellars, a hidden gem with a stunning patio overlooking the valley—what I like to call Centennial’s little escape. It’s the perfect spot to sip wine and take in the fall views. Than Inchin Bamboo Garden, where Pan-Asian flavors shine. Their butter chicken is unlike anything I’ve ever tasted, and their mocktails are as vibrant as they are cultural.
Throughout the issue, you’ll discover even more local favorites, whether you’re looking for a quick bite or an after-work hangout. These places are what make Centennial’s food scene unique, and I encourage you to explore them as we fall in love with fall again!
Here’s to food, fall, and all things October!

EMPOWERING ABILITIES, ONE BOARD AT A TIME
ARTICLE BY MEGAN DELAROSA | PHOTOGRAPHY BY SAVORY SNACKABLES
Charcuterie is a form of Art, Julie Wismann, owner of Savory Snackables brings this artistry to life by personalizing each board to reflect the person and occasion. “The whole point for me is to create the essence of what the moment is about,” she says. Savory Snackables is more than just a smallbatch charcuterie company-it’s a labor of love with a heartfelt back story.
Above all, Julie is a mother, and her daughter Kara has been a driving inspiration behind Savory Snackables. Kara, who lives with disabilities, motivated Julie to engage with the community and use charcuterie as a platform to support and empower others with disabilities. Julie launched a pilot program designed to enrich the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Through team-building charcuterie classes, event planning, and birthday parties, the program equips participants with valuable kitchen skills that could potentially lead to paid gigs.
Julie also collaborates with community day programs, involving participants in creating and preparing for her events, helping them develop life skills and confidence. “Everybody knows about food, but now we’re getting adventurous with it - through touch, taste, texture, visuals- it’s a whole new ball game!“, she says. Julie’s mission is to foster growth and learning, partnering with organizations like The Arc, Developmental Pathways, Care and other local multi-county programs. Behind the beauty and artistry of Savory Snackables, whether elevated table grazes or flat boards, lies a meaningful purpose. Visit SavorySnackables. com to learn more.

LADRÓN CELLARS
HIP PHOTO
If you have not heard of Ladrón Cellars, you may not be alone, but it’s a local treasure here in South Metro Denver. We are lucky to have unique offerings here, but this one is exceptional. They are located not too far from the “beaten path” of Centennial, and the
is unique to them and their brand, from the works of their friend and artist, Phil Leer. Leer’s creations adorn the bottles, as well as the walls.
Concerning the wine, Crocket asserts, “My passion for wine and the winemaking process began during my

view from the tasting room is not to be missed. Owners Richard and Tracy Crockett would love for you to enjoy an evening on their deck to enjoy the sunset and a sip.
Ladrón’s Winemaker, Richard Crockett, crafts lovely artisanal wines using premium grapes sourced from vineyards along the glorious Central Coast of California, and from Western Colorado. The word “ladrón ” is explained by them as a nod to the fact they say they have “smuggled” the grapes to the production facility in Englewood; the word itself is the Spanish word for “thief”.
The team at Ladrón, under Crockett’s watchful eye, crafts the wines here in the facility in Englewood. The fruit is grown elsewhere, as we discuss a bit later, and the real magic of creation happens in the more “industrial” or modern setting of his urban winery.
The venue can be used by the community for things such as art events, sip-and-paint sessions, and other private occasions. There is lovely art that
first trips to California wine country in the 90’s. Since then, I have traveled around the world to several new and old-world wine regions to experience and learn about the styles and traditions of the local wines. During these travels, and one in particular, I began to create the vision for Ladrón Cellars. It began with the belief [in] sharing various wine styles and varietals from specific locations in Colorado, California and Washington. We select varietals from these regions that highlight their unique climates, allowing us to produce our incredibly complex wines.”
To fully appreciate the complexity of the California wine map, it is helpful to understand the “terroir” (or wine-growing soil, as the French call it.) California is a large state with distinct micro-climates, even within relatively small regions. As in all great wine-growing regions, a few meters, the angle of the hill against the sun, the fog, or the dryness of the soil, challenge the grapes. Good wine – even great wine – comes from grapes that fight a

bit to grow to their potential. To that, add considerations such as the type of grape, the minerality of the soil, and myriad other qualities, are what are captured in every drop of wine. In every glass, there is potential greatness.
For Ladrón, and its creator, Crockett, “the focus is on sourcing from the best vineyards in the selected regions. [Their] California vineyards are located in Santa Barbara County and Paso Robles AVA’s. I mainly source traditional Rhone varietals such as – Sirah, Grenache and Mourvèdre. But I have also added Petite Sirah, Zinfandel and Cabernet Sauvignon, which allows me to create concentrated red wine blends with incredible depth.”
He goes on, to explain, “The Colorado vineyards are located in the Grand Valley AVA and Paonia, on the western slope. I source several white and red varietals from these regions. The red varietals are focused on Bordeaux grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and Cabernet Franc, while the white varietals are Viognier, Chardonnay and Riesling. We will continue to select additional varietals

and regions, which allow us to create unique red and white blends that increase our palate options for future releases.”
With the notion of micro-climates in mind, Crocket further shares that, “The deliciousness of the wines that come from this stretch of road in Santa Barbara County is due in large part to the microclimate that enters Ballard Canyon from the ocean. The Santa Ynez Valley’s unusual orientation pulls maritime wind inland across the extended Santa Ynez Valley every afternoon and fog every evening.”
Ladrón Cellars is committed to creating exceptional wine in an unexpected place. “I believe that bringing the experience of the winery to an urban setting will introduce people [who] are passionate about wine [and] to new varietals and regional styles. Ladrón Cellars was created to share our same passion for wine with others.”

Inchin BAMBOO Garden
Centennial is a “crossroads” city. Nestled in the perfect pocket between Denver, Greenwood Village, Aurora, Littleton, and the growing southern suburb cities of Lone Tree and Castle Rock, it is a young municipality. And it has its own “vibe”.
If you travel, or if you came to Colorado from someplace - near or far - evolving menu selections are gems. At the same time, we like places that are both, “pull up a chair” and “grab a glass” friendly, and unique. Enter, Inchin Bamboo Garden. Its ChefOwner, Asif Vahora, says, “We are a very closely knit small family of three who love spending time together, whether it is traveling, hiking, or cooking. Food is a thing that always makes us happy. I noticed that there wasn't a restaurant in the area offering the kind of fusion cuisine I love.”
When you step into Inchin, the décor and ambiance are the first things you feel and see. It is a soothing place to be, and the smells are magical.
Vahora says, “I've always been drawn to the elegance and beauty of traditional Chinese design elements, such as intricate wood carvings, statues, and symbolic artwork. These elements create a warm and inviting ambiance that enhances the overall dining experience.”

Where Indian and Asian Flavors Unite: A Fusion Dining Experience in Centennial
He continues, noting, “Our menu features a fusion of Chinese flavors, so it made sense to have the décor align with the cuisine we offer. The design helps tell a cohesive story, where the food and environment complement each other, providing our guests with a memorable experience.”
From a culinary standpoint, if you are not familiar with what “fusion” means, Vahora explains, “Inchin is a combination of the words Indian and Chinese... This is what makes our menu Asian Fusion. Some of the dishes are inspired by Malaysian cooking, which in turn is influenced by Indian and Chinese cooking styles. We have [also] evolved and added popular dishes from Singapore, Thailand, and even India. Our dishes are nuanced in nostalgia from famous Asian restaurants.” He added, “My personal favorite is Hakka noodles.”
We wondered about “signature dishes”. We were told, “The eye-catching, colorful, and delicious Momo are unique. I love the delicate balance of flavors and textures in each bite—the savory filling combined with the soft, steamed dough is… irresistible. The … varieties… meat, vegetables, or a mix of both, offer something for every palate.”
Many in Colorado are interested in sustainability, local ingredients, smart farming, and water reduction. To this, Vahora says, “We place a strong emphasis on using local ingredients... We believe that using fresh, locally sourced produce not only supports our community but also enhances the flavor and quality of our food. By partnering with local farmers and suppliers, we’re able to offer ingredients that are in season and at their peak. This approach allows us to create dishes that are both vibrant and reflective of the local region."
For those diners who want a beautiful, delicious Mocktail, Chef does not believe any detail is too small. The look and the flavors are important in crafting a compliment to food that is made with love.
All said, Inchin, reflects the best of what we hope to see in our community. Hard work, respect for local ingredients, and a balance of family and community together enjoying a great meal are all found here.
They believe, “A restaurant is more than just a place to eat—it's a space where people come together to create memories… a warm, welcoming atmosphere where every guest feels like they're part of our extended family.”

SAVOR THE seasons
Seasonal ingredients are harvested at their peak, ensuring unmatched freshness and flavor. For instance, nothing compares to the sweetness of a ripe summer tomato or the earthy richness of freshly harvested winter squash. When I design a menu for an event, I want each dish to sing with vibrant flavors that only come from ingredients at their prime. Sourcing the best, not only elevates the dining experience but also creates lasting memories for your guests.
Seasonal cooking is a guide for endless creativity in the kitchen. Each climate cycle brings a unique array of ingredients, inspiring me to craft innovative menus that reflect the time of year. When entertaining, this not only keeps the offerings fresh and exciting but also encourages guests to experience new flavors and dishes they may not have tried before. It invites us to celebrate the times of growth and harvest, reminding us that food is not just about sustenance but also about appreciation for the earth’s gifts. When guests enjoy a dish made with these ingredients, they are not just tasting food; they are experiencing a moment of connection to the land and the seasons.
HOSTING TIP:
When you're hosting an event, I encourage you to think about the beauty and benefits of seasonal offerings. It will not only delight your guests' palates but also enrich the entire dining experience, making it truly unforgettable.
