Every Breath
Every Breath is a newly form ed lung cancer support group based in the South East. It is the only lung cancer group in the whole of London and meets monthly, at Far nborough Village Hall, with the aim to provide a relaxed, supportive environment for anyone affe cted by lung cancer. The group was founded by lung cancer patients and lung specialist nurse, Nicky de Lobel, from Princess Royal University Hospital. Nicky said: “The group’s aim is to imp rove awareness of lung cancer and their goa l is to push for an improvement in services and early diagnostics. Sadly, lung cancer is the UK’s bigger cancer killer and more people lost the ir life to lung cancer in 2020 than to Covid. The UK lags behind other similar countries due to late presentation of the disease and we want to mak e it acceptable to talk about the risk of lung can cer and challenge the stigma of it just being rela ted to smoking. Many of our group have never smo ked at all.”
