Every Breath
Every Breath is a newly formed lung cancer support group based in the South East. It is the only lung cancer group in the whole of London and meets monthly, at Farnborough Village Hall, with the aim to provide a relaxed, supportive environment for anyone affected by lung cancer. The group was founded by lung cancer patients and lung specialist nurse, Nicky de Lobel, from Princess Royal University Hospital. Nicky said: “The group’s aim is to improve awareness of lung cancer and their goal is to push for an improvement in services and early diagnostics. Sadly, lung cancer is the UK’s bigger cancer killer and more people lost their life to lung cancer in 2020 than to Covid. The UK lags behind other similar countries due to late presentation of the disease and we want to make it acceptable to talk about the risk of lung cancer and challenge the stigma of it just being related to smoking. Many of our group have never smoked at all.” For more information call 01689 864713 or email support@everybreath.org.uk

SUPPORTING LOCAL AUTHORS…
Football Rebooted
Following on from last month’s introductory ‘Supporting Local Authors’ feature (Issue 35, p8), in this month’s issue we meet Raymond W Hudson, a published author in a range of specialist subjects. His books include ‘So you think you know about Freemasonry’, ‘So you think you know about Chapter’, ‘Freemasonry a Progressive Science’ and ‘Freemasonry, whence did it take its rise?’ Ray is also co-author of “The Jesus Gene”, which traces the DNA root and maintenance of the Jewish Race for the Levites and the Cohens. Raymond says: "I am a Freemason and a very active one. I lecture in Ancient Cultures and Religions, and although I’m not very actively religious myself I have an abounding fascination for the subject and its relation to life in general. I have written papers on Moses, Jesus, Constantine the Great, King David (of David and Goliath fame) and many other biblical and historical characters. Many people do not realise that there are many Orders within Freemasonry from the Craft right up to the Illuminati, and I am a member of most of them. In fact, I belong to 72 different Masonic Orders. Many are exemplifying religious stories, either Christian, Hindu, Jewish, or Islam or historical such as The Knights Templar, The Anglo Saxon period of English History etc. I am also a specialist in various Esoteric subjects such as Spirituality, Gematria, Astrology, Druidism, Rosicrucianism and many other subjects.” A new campaign called Football Rebooted and launched by David James has been initiated locally by 14-year old Orpington resident, Louis David-Hooper. The idea behind the campaign is to recycle one million pairs of football boots (whether they be moulds, astros etc) to give to children within UK schools, as well as abroad, for those who cannot afford them. The programme will also aspire to save 136,000 tonnes of carbon in the process, which is the equivalent of taking around 7,000 cars off the road for a whole year! Instead of the old boots being sent to a landfill and adding to the greenhouse gas emissions, these boots can be given a new home. The campaign will allow children across the country to continue playing the sport they love, as well as helping children abroad continue their hobby. Can you help Louis collect football boots? If you’ve got any unused or unwanted football boots you can donate, please email pippaben9@aol.com
You can find all of Raymond’s books available on Amazon. If you’re a local author or know of one, please email hello@lifeinmagazines.co.uk for the chance to be featured. share local news February 2022 Life in... Orpington 9
