SPOTTED ON SOCIAL I thought I’d share a picture of the ‘reversible’ dollies I’ve been knitting for the Cancer Hair Care charity for children with cancer. These dollies are distributed by the charity across NHS hospitals to children. One side of the dolly has hair the other doesn’t; just a small hat. Theses dollies are used to explain to a child what is happening to either themselves or an adult affected by cancer and the hair loss that follows treatments from certain drugs. Georgina Levassor-Collins We think you’re wonderful Georgina - and a very worthy winner!

Poetry corner A Little Saxon King
What’s Your Take...? Maria Hooper Make sure your neighbours aren't alone this year, whatever their age, we've all spent far too much time alone the last 18 months. Personally feeding one or two extra people at my table is no trouble and reduces the food waste I always have.
The Caring Dental team in Petts Wood having some downtime with their favourite local mag!
A little Saxon king one day Called his men around He told them in a dream he’d seen Their fields became a town
The streets were laid with slabs of stone With wagons moving on their own Traders worked with one another In a market under cover Together they would sell their wares He even saw some moving stairs And boxes placed within a wall Would give out money to them all It would be called a cash machine And the people in their dwellings Would decorate a large fir tree For they worshipped A special god called electricity Their god was very powerful For their trees began to shine And the people laughed And clapped their hands Saying ‘peace to all mankind’ Then the king proclaimed That from now on He would call this new town Orpington The men looked in wonder At their mighty king And very soon they all agreed We must get rid of him Maureen Hillier
