LHF TRANSLATOR FALLS ASLEEP IN JESUS We mourn the passing of Rev. Kou Seying, LHF’s lead translator for Hmong projects, including the Small Catechism and A Child’s Garden of Bible Stories. “The impact of Kou’s work for the Gospel to the Hmong people cannot be overstated,” said Rev. Dr. Matthew Heise, LHF executive director. “He was a good man who served his Lord Jesus Christ faithfully and with every ounce of his being. As we all sorrow and will greatly miss our dear friend, we do not suffer as those without hope. We know that our Redeemer lives and that we will see our brother Kou again, with all the faithful in Heaven. Rest well in Jesus, good and faithful servant!” At the time of his death, Rev. Seying was working on the Blue and White Hmong translations of the Small Catechism with Explanation. LHF is grateful that Concordia Seminary staff (where Rev. Seying taught) have been able to retrieve those computer files, so others may continue the editing. “We are happy that Kou’s work and legacy live on through these translations!” said Dr. Heise. INCREDIBLE RESPONSE TO NEW LHF BOOK More than 80 percent of Vietnam’s people say they are atheist. And yet, just TWO DAYS after launching an announcement about LHF’s Bible Stories in Pictures - Old Testament in Vietnam, more than 2,000 copies of the 3,000 printed have been claimed! “This shows that LHF books are really well received by all Christians, bringing Christ and His love to all people,” says Rev. Ted NaThalang, LHF’s coordinator for Southeast Asian projects. A special thank you to Multi-Language Publications for permission to translate and publish this book, and to the many LHF supporters whose gifts are helping to sow the seeds of the Gospel in atheist Vietnam!
