USJ-R President discussing the plan to establish the Ormoc City Campus, with the invited stakeholders.

USJR-Ormoc City Campus soon to rise Some protectors of Kerwin, generals in active duty says Espenido

ORMOC CITY --- Good news for both college students and parents. Another school is coming to the city.

The possibility of having University of San Jose-Recletos-Ormoc City Satellite Campus established in this part of the province is big as USJ-R team, headed by its university president, Rev. Fr., Christopher Maspara, recently

visited the city and conducted a consultative meeting with stakeholders. It was held at city mayor’s conference room. Those who attended were

ALBUERA, Leyte --- P/CInsp. Jovy Espinido, the chief of police of this town, recently revealed that some of Kerwin’s protectors are active politicians and even police generals. He based his revelation on the testimonies of Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr. The police chief told the media that the mayor revealed that Cebu-based businessman Peter Lim, alias Jaguar is the biggest supplier of illegal drugs to his son. But Espinido said he will not easily believe the mayor unless those revelations are executed in a notarized affidavits and must be submitted to the state prosecutor. He added that listening to the mayor’s revelation would give the venue of knowing who the protectors are, particularly, those who are in active

in their government duties. Espinido said he believes that Kerwin is just being used by these protectors in running their illegal drug trade and that would mean that even if Kerwin is killed, the illegal trade would stop. He said these protectors are very capable of making another Kerwin. And it would not look good if Kerwin and his father are killed because their protectors would always find ways to continue the illegal business. The chief also disclosed that the mayor asked him to put him under police custody once a Warrant of Arrest is issued against him from the number of cases filed against the mayor. Espenido said he agreed with the mayor’s request on condition that the mayor will tell everything he knows about the illegal business. RCD

Court issues subpoena to Mayor Espinosa ALBUERA, Leyte --- A subpoena for murder was delivered by an employee of the City Prosecutor of Ormoc City at the Police Station here to Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., and two other persons in the connection with the ambush which resulted to the death of the former chief of police of this town who is a known ally of the former mayor of Ormoc. The subpoena was in connection with the charges filed against the mayor along with Alfred Christian Batistis, and Leonardo Bolinio Dela Cruz, docketed under NPS Docket Number VIII-04INV-16H-00348 filed by Mercedita Bucabuca the widow of the slain retired cop Alfredo Bucabuca. The subpoena stated that pursuant to Sec. (a) and other related provisions of Revised Rules of Criminal Procedures, they are given 10 days upon receipt of copies of the complaint to file their counter affidavit of their witnesses and other supporting documents if any for their defense. The case stemmed from the ambushed to death of Alfredo Bucabuca who along with his wife Mercedita were waylaid by a back rider of a riding in tandem about 4:20 in the afternoon last May 25 along the national highway in Brgy. Macabug in Ormoc City. The couple was on board their service vehicle an Isuzu Highlander bearing plate LDJ-216 bound for

Albuera, Leyte. The couple was in the city to replace the ATM card of the victim from a local bank and immediately return back home after the replacement was done. Bucabuca a former barangay chairman of one of the barangays here was behind the complaint lodge against the entire members of Sangguiang Bayan of Albuera, Leyte for ESTAFA through Falsification of Public Documents and Administrative complaints for Abuse of Authority, Dishonesty and Grave Misconduct. This charges came after one of the former municipal councilor of the town Sergio Batistis Jr, was arrested Davao Police during an entrapment in Davao City on June 10, 2015, for holding and selling fake PCL receipts to members of the Philippine Councilors League. Batistis was found guilty by the Ombudsman during a decision issued on Feb this year. The mayor did not meet Rita Pedoy the city prosecutor employee that delivered the subpoena. Instead she was told that the police will personally deliver the paper to the mayor. Meanwhile a cargo truck was seen this morning delivering several pieces of bed at the police station. It is perceived to be use as sleeping bed of Mayor Espinosa as put himself into the custody of Albuera, PNP Chief P/ CInsp. Jove Espenido. RCD

ALBUERA, Leyte--- Mayor Rolando Espinosa Sr., at last, decided to see the chief of police of his town, P/CInsp. Jovy Espinido and allowed himself to be interrogated for more than five hours. The mayor reportedly met with the police chief in order to give the police the possible links of the drug operations of his son Kerwin. The two had a talk from 10:00 o’clock in the morning and lasted past three o’clock in the afternoon. Espenido praised the mayor for doing such, personally visited him and promised to cooperate with the investigation. Espinido said the investigation will not stop even if Kerwin is captured or killed. He stressed that the proliferation of illegal drugs will not stop, if the politicians, police generals and businessmen are still there to do their bad stuffs. He also informed that he just learned through the mayor that Kerwin has one big boss, but he refused to elaborate. The chief also urged the public not to

be so much judgemental. During the media coverage on the mayor’s meeting with the town police chief, one of the mayor’s escorts got angry with the media who were there to cover the event. The lady who was dressed in white blouse and black skirt told stressed the media people can also be charged criminally for pointing their cameras to the mayor. The unidentified lady also boarded the service vehicle of Mayor Espinosa leaving the police station. Espinosas’ supporters who were standing by the Poblacion Barangay Hall were seen clapping their hands when the mayor came out of the Police Station until he boarded his service vehicle. But they harassed the media yelling “Mga media way gamit!” “Media people useless!” A female supporter of the Espinosaa led the yelling while fellow supporters clapped their hands. The chief said the mayor was never arrested and was not handcuffed when he went out of his office. RCD

Improvised bladed weapons, cellphones & other prohibited stuffs, recovered inside city jail ORMOC CITY --- Improvised bladed weapons made from different materials were among those that were recovered inside the city jail in Brgy. Alta Vista here during a raid conducted by a joint-team of local police, operatives of Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) and personnel of Bureau of Jail and Management and Penology (BJMP). The operation was tagged as Operation Greyhound. According to Jail warden J/ CInsp. Jennifer Joyce Abar, Operation greyhound was conducted in connection with the implementation of Oplan Tokhang inside the city jail. She said that the operation resulted to the recovery of a number of improvised bladed weapons, cellular phones, chargers and other materials that can be converted into a weapon like the kitchen utensils. The recovered weapons were turned to the Ormoc PNP for safekeeping. Abar explained that inmates have learned different ways of acquiring such weapons. She admitted that she has just assumed her post recently and Lawyer Rogelio Bato and companion Angelica Bonita, 16 died after the vehicle they boarded were strafed by unidentified persons on board a white pick-up

ESPINOSAS from p. 1

Village, also in Tacloban, were strafed by a riding in tandem using an automatic rifle. The lawyer was driving his maroon Toyota Pick-up bearing plate number YHH-457 when the incident happened. Bonita was a high school student at Sagkahan National High School. Witnesses said told police that they have noticed a white pick-up and a motorcycle tailing the vehicle of the lawyer. The victims were reportedly on their way to Robinson mall which is located about hundred meters the crime scene. The suspects seemed to know that some CCTV cameras are installed at Robinson mall which probably made them decide to overtake and spread bullets to the lawyer’s vehicle. The vehicle was reportedly running at

low speed because there was a road construction in the area. Atty. Bato is a known lawyer of Kerwin Espinosa, holding most of the cases filed against him and his runners. Atty. Bato also represented bigtime pushers in the city and a number of suspects held for illegal possession of firearms including the arrested men of the Espinosa now in jail at Albuera PNP Marcelo Adorco, and Jeffrey Pesquera in their cases at the two RTC Branches in Ormoc City. He was also the counsel of bigtime pushers Ricardo Rondina, still in jail, Ferdinand Rondina, on bail, and Mario Dumaguit, already six feet below the ground. The mayor still had no reaction as to what happened to his lawyer. He was crying hard upon learning of the death of his son’s lawyer. RCD

USJR-ORMOC from p. 1 representatives from the Department of Education, Commission on Higher Education, TESDA Regional Office, Department of Trade and Industry, and Ormoc City Chamber of Commerce and Industry. City Mayor Richard Gomez, with some members of the city council warmly welcomed the team and promised to support the plan in which the realization was delayed several times. The mayor expressed optimism over the plan and believed that the satellite campus would surely help the education sector, as the university is known as an institution that offers high quality education. Rev. Fr. Cristopher Maspara

that she found several things needed to be done and one of these is the recent Greyhound operation. She revealed that it was the first time she allowed such operation since her assumption as the warden. One possible aspect why bladed weapons got inside the prison is that the prison facilities are no longer that good or some jail personnel are allowing it. But this has to be validated first, Abar added. The warden stressed that Greyhound operation shall conducted once a week. And then, there will be a compulsory body search to all personnel, including her, every time they go out. And under her watch, a curfew shall also be imposed. She said she will see to it that the jail is closed from 8:00 pm until 8:00 am. Abar also revealed that the jail is only good for 50 inmates but a total of 434 prisoners are already inside. 406 of this are male and 28 are female. She also informed that BJMP is now trying to find solution to solve the congestion. Two 2-storey building shall be constructed soon, she said. RCD

revealed that the school campus will rise at the site originally planned, about half a kilometer from the national highway in Barangay Bantigue. The team discussed with the stakeholders, matters concerning present situation in the city including the promising contributors of economic growth of the city, about the growing employment rate, as well as the educational system in senior high schools under the K to 12 program. Purpose of the discussion was for the university team to determine the possible programs that the university might be offer. It was learned that after the consultative meeting, the team will conduct a survey and feasibility study. ATT

How sure is the President in his accusation against powerful woman like Senator Delima?

E ditorial information. The senator shows that she is untouchable and can’t be moved by any issues against her. She is firmed in denying all the accusation against her. She possesses all the right and privileges to feel confident. Perhaps, she feels that she has all the defenses she needed. Well, she might be just right. She has the backing of the former President of the Republic, her strong ally, the former President Noynoy Aquino. She has the backing of a presidentiable, former DILG Secretary Mar Roxas. She said that President Duterte and his accusation is “funny” and she pitied the President for being “used” by some. The senator seems trying to make the President look stupid. The big question is, how could the President win the war on illegal drugs when a strong woman like Senator Delima is there to make him look like stupid? It is very clear that Delima doesn’t want Duterte to win this war. What do you think is the reason why? Why is the senator siding with the criminals? What then, is the use of her being a senator?

PRESIDENT Digong Duterte has already shown to the media the “matrix” of alleged illegal drug business in the National Bilibid Prison. As expected, Senator Leila Delima is in the list. Many people expected that the lady senator would feel worried about the matrix. But what happened? The senator just laughed on it. She said the document is rubbish that even a teenage boy can make it. She also advised the President to stop wasting his time and just focus on his other work. With the senator’s reaction, one can figure out that she is not affected by such allegation. For her, it is only a pure accusation, fabricated to malign her “clean” name. She stressed that the President is living by being fed with wrong

Katungod nga mobadlong sa mga drayber nga dili mosunod sa balaod sa trapiko sama nianang “No Parking”, “No Entry”, “No Loading and Unloading” ug uban pa.

Wala lay suk-anay bro. Kun duna moy nindot nga isplikasyon kabahin ning maong butang nga atong naobserbahan, hatagi mi aron dili maglibog kining daghan nga mga tawo nga naglibog karon.
