Personal Computer Essentials
The course introduces you to personal computers running Windows and serves as preparation for advanced coursework. Topics include identifying the primary components of a computer and their functions, popular software types, working with files, creating user accounts, adjusting settings, routine maintenance, security, connecting to the internet and using browsers.

Microsoft Office Essentials for Windows
Microsoft Office is the most widely used office productivity software in the business world. This course introduces Office on Microsoft Windows systems and serves as preparation for specialized training in Office. (Mac users are directed to PCW 91 Microsoft Office Essentials for the Mac for a comparable class.) The primary Office applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) and their functions are introduced. Common features such as the ribbon, task and command groups, the “backstage view,” and the Quick Access toolbar will be covered. Prerequisites: Personal Computer Essentials MAT 10 or equivalent experience or training on Windows systems.

Microsoft Excel is a spreadsheet program that is a must for accountants, office workers, and marketing managers. Personal uses include budgeting and data tracking. Advanced Microsoft Excel: Data Analysis
This class will use Excel’s statistical and financial functions, and tools such as pivot tables and charts, to detect, summarize and visualize patterns in datasets in areas such as health and business. Prerequisite: Excel Part 2 or equivalent experience or training. Access to a desktop version of Microsoft Office 2016 or later required.
