ex trafficking is real and although it exists right below the radar, it also happens right before our eyes. Parking lots, gas stations, malls, and other places we casually frequent. Hearing the stories of young girls disappearing and missing for years is difficult to process and what about the ones who escape being in bondage yet the trauma has impacted their lives in ways we can’t imagine. She’s a kind-hearted, beautiful, loving, and giving (almost to a fault) 32-year-old from Tennessee named Brittney, but many know her as Monroe Sweets, a popular adult entertainer. What woman who knows her worth would choose adult entertainment as a life goal? Well, this world chose Brittney, and believe me when I say she is well aware of her worth. Forced into the horrific world of sex trafficking at the ripe age of 16 and thrown into the streets into the dirty hands of men who saw her only as a means of release for their insatiable sexual cravings and desires. For only $25 a man could make a request and young Brittney delivered to the best of her ability and lack of knowing the full scope of her own body. Her virginity was stolen, she was forced to take excessive drugs, expected to recruit other young girls, worked from 6 am to 6 am with only three hours to rest was allowed to eat twice a day. To survive, she learned street

life and how to make money using her body. She “graduated” from the streets to truck stops and then was taken to a ranch in an undisclosed location. There Brittney continued to involuntarily sell her body for a price. Sadly, it became her way of life with no visible way out. Making inconceivable amounts of money and receiving only a minimal amount for herself, Brittney’s age and maturity kicked in Weary of feeling used and abused, she managed to use her street smarts and one day escaped the world that caged and controlled her for years. Unfortunately, Brittney was addicted to making the money she never imagined and at nineteen she used Craigslist to continue what she knew - using her body to make money. “Everything happened so fast but I always protected myself.”

Brittney later joined the adult entertainment industry. Knowing her worth, Brittney quickly realized she was being treated differently and getting paid less than her counterparts because of her color and her build. She was told she was a ‘one-hit wonder’. There was only one person who believed in her and helped her to become “top dog” in the industry and that was porn star legend, Pinky (Pinkyxxx). Tired of the bullies in the industry, she courageously decided to branch out and build her own brand. Finding investors has been a challenge, but Brittney’s not your average woman. She’s not only smart, but she’s also a high achiever and says, “Building my own company will allow me to invest in other businesses and help other entertainers build their network without being taken advantage of.” She also holds workshops for those interested in the adult entertainment industry. As a producer and director in an unconventional field, Brittney was built for the backlash, criticism, and judgment, and in her defense - - until you’ve walked in her shoes and on the dark and dangerous streets she worked to survive, save your brutal biases When you meet Brittney, you’ll feel her gentle spirit and see her as yourself - a strong woman who has had a challenging journey and is using everything in her power to not only play the hand she’s been dealt but to win the game. She’s happy and says, “It’s my body and my time and I am not ashamed of myself.” To find out more
