LEARNER TESTIMONIALS
Six years ago, I applied to Abbeyleix Further Education & Training Centre and completed the Level 4 Return to Learning with Art, Craft & Design and Level 5 in Business with Digital Marketing.
After completing my Leaving Cert, I was not sure of what I wanted to do. The Level 4 Return to Learning course was a great opportunity because the mixed variety of modules allowed me to discover many areas of my interest – which turned out to be mainly horticulture in my case. Level 4 was not only about learning from books but learning by experience and practice, and it was a great stepping-stone to Level 5 Business which I found highly informative and interesting. I then progressed on to study Horticulture at the Technological University of Dublin.
The staff of Abbeyleix FETC could not be more helpful, supportive, and friendly. The tutors guide each student during their studies, engage with students during classes, support, and motivate everyone to do their best. Members of staff guided and supported me when I was looking into college options and provided me with all the information needed.
After four years of studying at TU Dublin I have achieved a First Class Degree in Level 8 Honours Bachelor Degree. A lot of hard work went into the last four years (especially the last year and a half) and many things I found easier, especially in the first year, thanks to the great preparation I got in Abbeyleix FET.
Looking back, I could not have been prepared any better for my time in college than I was after two years in Abbeyleix Further Education & Training Centre. Patrik Weisser 2021 TU Horticulture Graduate

LEARNER TESTIMONIALS
Great place to study. I have studied and achieved two QQI level 5 certificates in LOETB Abbeyleix Further Education and Training Centre. I really enjoyed it, you are helped in every way possible to achieve your full potential. The staff were kind, encouraging and did all they could to help me along the way. One of the things I loved about it was, I felt I was listened to and was never made to feel that I couldn’t do it. This is the place for you if you are thinking of going back to further your education. I would encourage anyone to take the plunge, it’s worth it.
Della McEvoy Healthcare Level 5 (2020-2021)
Beginning the healthcare course in Abbeyleix FET was a huge step for me as it was the first time I had studied full time since finishing school 19 years ago. What a great decision I made as the course is excellent and I received a great deal of support and encouragement from the teachers and learning support staff, they boosted my confidence and made learning although challenging, very enjoyable. I now have begun my career as a healthcare assistant and it is hopefully the beginning of a new journey to higher education for me. If you are considering a new career even in later years, Abbeyleix FET is the place to be!

LEARNER TESTIMONIALS
I undertook QQI level 5 in Business in Abbeyleix FETC in 2019 and received great results thanks to the amazing support from the teachers. Since then, I returned to Abbeyleix FETC to complete QQI Level 6 modules in Business Management. I found these modules really valuable and they expanded on the knowledge that I had gained on the Level 5 course. I always received great support from the teachers in Abbeyleix FETC, and they help you as much as they can to achieve the highest standard possible in all assignments and tasks.
Since leaving the Centre, I was delighted to have found employment and am now currently working full-time in an Employment Advisor position. This company works closely with employment services and businesses in the local area. This has been a great role to obtain and the knowledge and skills I gained during my time in Abbeyleix FETC have been invaluable. I would highly recommend this Further Education Centre and PLC courses to anyone looking into further education. Laoise Phelan (Business L6 2020-2021)

LEARNER TESTIMONIALS
I completed the Return to Learning with Art, Craft & Design course in Abbeyleix FETC to improve my IT skills. I was able to complete a Level 6 online course using those new skills. There was always a staff member available to answer questions and provide support and this was invaluable. I am now involved in a book collaboration project, using skills from other subjects for example Maths, Art and Design. As a more mature student I found that the confidence I now have, after completing the course, has opened new doors me. Valerie Meehan (Return to Learning with Art & Design 2020/2021)

Enterprise Support Testimonials
“Buildings in the developed world consume 70% of total electricity production so Chadwicks Group are in a unique position, as a building materials provider, to help our customers build energy efficient, sustainable homes. To ensure our colleagues have the most up to date product knowledge we have launched a comprehensive learning program for relevant functions across the business. The first course in this program is NZEB Fundamentals which was delivered by Bebhinn Kennedy in The National Construction Training Centre, Mount Lucas. The course itself was a combination of class room learning and practical work all delivered in the excellent facilities at Mount Lucas. The course was informative and engaging, covering everything from NZEB principles to different types of renewable energy. The practical workshop allowed Chadwicks Group colleagues to get an in-depth understanding of the range of products available along with varying specifications between brands. This course has been attended by many functions across our business including commercial, marketing and sales- all of whom have reported positive feedback for both the facilities and the team delivering the training.”
Austin Nevin | Trading Director Heating & Plumbing Chadwicks Group
