Progression Options On successful completion of this course and meeting specific criteria, students have the opportunity to apply directly for Advanced Entry to Year 2 of a business course leading to an Honours Degree at IT Carlow. LIT Thurles also provide opportunities for advanced entry to Year 2 of selected Business courses. Students can avail of exemptions based on QQI results with Accounting Technicians Ireland (ATI) and Business Programmes in the Institute of Public Administration (IPA). Other colleges may also offer exemptions, depending on results obtained.

Employment opportunities arise in the areas of accounting, ICT, finance, administration, junior management, setting up your own business and many other areas of business in the public and private sectors. Entry Requirements • An applicant must have completed a QQI Level 5 course in a related area. • Leaving Certificate students who achieved 280 CAO Points with

H5/O1 (or above) in a Business related subject and O4 (or above) in

English and Maths. • Abbeyleix FETC welcomes applications from mature students.

Applicants are assessed on relevant life and work experience. • Applicants are required to complete an interview and online assessment before commencing a course.
