Progression Options Nursing Studies is a recognised QQI Award for progression to CAO Nursing Degrees in all Higher Education Institutions in Ireland. Additionally, students may progress to study Nursing in the UK by applying through UCAS. Students may also progress to 3rd level studies in areas such as Social Care, Physiology, Sports and and Health Sciences.

Holders of a QQI Level 5 Certificate in Nursing Studies may seek employment as a Healthcare Assistant in hospitals, nursing homes, community, and disability sectors.of business in both the public and private sectors. Entry Requirements • Leaving Certificate or equivalent standard of education. • Abbeyleix FETC welcomes applications from mature students.

Applicants are assessed on relevant life and work experience. • Applicants are required to complete an online assessment before commencing a course.

Garda Vetting At the start of the course students are requested to complete the Garda Vetting process. Completing this process and receiving clearance is a mandatory requirement for work placement.
