UPPER ROOM APOSTOLIC CHURCH FELLOWSHIP NEWSLETTER October 1, 2015

Volume 7, Issue 10
A Purposed Generation: Taking Care of God’s Temple I Corinthians 3:16 admonishes us: “Know ye not that ye are the temple of God, and that the Spirit of God dwelleth in you? “ Many times this passage is used to remind us that our very bodies belong to God and we are to keep them pure and holy, acceptable for his use. Usually, we are quick to think of the obvious sins such as sexual impurity, use of drugs and/or alcohol, etc. Yes, we are steadfast in our quest to caution our youth to abstain from these activities. While this is definitely right, we tend to overlook the more subtle, yet rampant misuse of God’s temples: unhealthy eating and lifestyle! As I sat mediating before the Lord, he said one simple sentence to me. “This generation is full of purpose, but how can they walk in it if the temple is broken?” When we are young, we are not as aware of the foods we eat, the stress we put on ourselves physically and mentally, nor its affect. It’s a simple principle. We reap what we sow. When we overindulge in food (gluttony), fill our temples with unhealthy foods, and fail to exercise; we are sowing corruption to the body. Eventually, we will reap the benefits in the form of diseases such as diabetes, high blood pressure, etc. If this happens, we will find it hard to walk in our God given purpose. Our bodies will literally not be able to withstand the call. The promises of God are yea and amen. With long life will he satisfy us and show us his salvation (Psalm 91:16). Jesus came that we might have life and that more abundantly (John 10:10). It is God’s will that we prosper and be in GOOD Health even as our soul prospers (3 John 1:2). Yes, God is concerned about our health. He wants us to have a long, healthy life filled with joy as we walk in his divine purpose. I must admit, I have been guilty of abusing God’s temple; and even as I type this, I am reaping those benefits. However, God is gracious and merciful. He is leading me on a journey to health. He is helping me to unlearn those damaging behaviors of my past, and teaching me new ones. I am beginning to reap the benefits of a healthy lifestyle. It’s never too late to sow healthy seeds to our health. We have been given an awesome privilege as the caretaker of God’s precious temples. Let’s be good stewards! In His Service, Prophetess Nichole Parks

Lord, we willingly, faithfully, and cheerfully worship You with our giving through tithes and offerings. We release our faith and finances so that ALL our ministry facilities will be built and our vision will be established in the earth. We believe that as we sow seed to establish the vision of Your house, You will also establish ours! Therefore, as a result of our obedience and love in giving, we thank You for raises and increases, borrowed money to be returned to us, bonuses and increased commissions, rebates, dividends, gifts and inheritances, cancelled debt and surprise checks in the mail. We bless You for blessing the health of our bodies, the sanity of our minds and the quality of our relationships. We honor You for the divine favor that You bring to our lives! In Jesus’ Name…. Amen
