Resurrection Sunday is upon us and it's time to celebrate our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. There are so many traditions that man has placed on this holy day, so many requirements that must be met in order to celebrate Jesus's walking away from the grave. We dress up in our Sunday best with pastel colors, bows and ties, pantyhose and suits, all trying to look our best, trying to meet the standard of man. The problem with all of that is that in God's word he tells that even at our best, we are yet as filthy rags in his sight. We can dress up in our finest attire but still not be worthy of the atoning power that was established by the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. We can follow all of our man created traditions and still not be worthy of the sacrifice that was made on the cross for us. So on this resurrec-

tion Sunday, let's remember the real reason for the day, to celebrate and honor God for the power of the cross and the sacrifice that Jesus made on our behalf. Don't get caught up in the egg hunts, the Easter bunny or even the fact that Easter falls on a different date each year. Let us all remember that The death and resurrection of Jesus was not just for those who have accepted him as our Lord and savior, but it was also for those who still have yet to accept That truth as their own. The death, burial and resurrection of Christ paid the penalty for sin and gives all who will believe in Him the opportunity to live eternally with Christ, That is what resurrection Sunday is all about. That's what we need to ensure every person gets the opportunity to see, hear and

know from us, those who are planning an eternity with the king, that if they are with us today, there is still yet time. Still time to receive Jesus into their hearts and lives, still time to declare their belief and dependence on him as the only one who saves, still time to accept his invitation for salvation. On this resurrection Sunday, let's let our lights so shine that we might be called fishers of men, lights in this cold dark world, offering all who want it a chance to know the one who lived, died and rose again for the sins of us all. In His Service, Evangelist Monica Whitfield

A Mockingbird's Song Part 1 Alone in a room to where no light is shinning, You can see through the bars but I feel like I'm hiding, Why is this happening to me, a prisoner with no bail, The life of a mockingbird sitting in a jail, A swing in a cell, rattling a cup on a rail, Someone help me, help me please, is all I can yell, Can't think of anything else to say, no name to call, No spoon to dig a hole to escape through the walls,

You see these walls are unusual because I can see in between them, Look I say, pointing at my freedom, The more I think I'm alone, the darker it gets, No way to know how to get out of this mess, And in there with me I see a fox and a lamb, And I start to wonder how trapped I really am, Because out of nowhere they happened to appear, And with that loneliness out came fear, Why am I seeing these things as I start to blink, It's been a while since I've had any food to drink, No food to eat, no place to rest, As I keep swinging, swinging, deeper into my mess, "Yea that's right, continue to go back and forth, You started out good but that's no more," Wait a minute, this fox is talking, As the lamb starts walking, Then I realized that they know each other, The fox says quit but the lamb seems to suffer, Then he stops walking and blood comes out, From all for of his feet, but he doesn't shout, Immediately he looks up and is gone, Just me and that fox saying swing on, swing on, Hours pass by, 72 to be exact, And all of the sudden the fox steps backs, A light shines bright and a voice starts to sing, Holy, Holy, Holy is the king, I look around and no one is in sight, Wait a minute I say, that voice is mine, The fox trembles like it's an earthquakes inside it, While inside of me, me and those feelings are being divided, No more fear, I'm not alone again, For there he was, pure as snow, the Lamb, The cage is opened but it always was, I now know why the fox and lamb had come, The fox was all bad but the lamb was all good, The fox said I wouldn't make it but the lamb knew I would, I stepped out the cage but I looked up and cried, A voice says, " Be glad in me, wipe that tear from your eyes, One day I will be back and the fox will try to deceive you, Just know that I am always with and will never leave you, I knew you had it in you but I wanted you to see,

The reason why the caged bird sings, "I AM FREE, and that's my decree, So how many of y’all will begin to sing? An original poem by Bro. Tayshaun Turner Upper Room Apostolic Church

Ask the pAstor…. The Question: Can a Spirit filled believer be demonically possessed? The Answer:

We all have questions that we need answers to. “Ask the Pastor” is your opportunity to ask questions and receive answers based solely on the Word of God.

This is one of the questions I’m asked more than any other, and the answer is NO. Let me explain my answer by using the Word of God. First I need to say this, a person cannot be possessed, but they can be oppressed to the point they feel as though they are being possessed. Sometimes through oppression he is able to influence but if you are truly spirit filled, you belong to the Lord and He has ownership. Unfortunately many times as spirit filled believers we grant the enemy access into our lives. Some of these access points come thru unforgiveness, past hurts and generational issues. The bible tells us in Luke 11:24 that when an un-clean spirit goes out of a man, that spirit seeks a place to go and if he finds no other place to go he will return to the place he came from. It is to our advantage, once we get saved, that we get the Word of God in us to replace those un-clean things that resided within us before we accepted salvation. James 1:21 tells us how important it is to get rid of all filthiness and receive the engrafted Word with meekness for it is able to save our souls. The soul is that emotional part of us; that area where the enemy is usually able to enter with relative ease. Daniel 7:25 let’s you know that it is the enemy’s job to wear the Saints of God out, to push and pull at us until our resolve starts to weaken. But the Bible lets us know in 2nd Corinthians 2:11 that we are not ignorant of his (Satan’s) devices. Ultimately, only you can grant the enemy access into your life, and once the door is open he can and will oppress you. You determine who and what you will open yourself up to.

If you have questions that you would like to have answered by the Pastor, please send them to the editor at jchc.inc@outlook.com, subject line “Ask the Pastor”.

Apostle Milton & Evangelist Janice Harper

The vision began in January of 1995 after the death of my brother and my mother. I was at an all time low. God showed me a vision in which He took me into a forest where there were only burned trees. He told me that this was all mine. I thought God had an ought against me. I asked, “God, what can I do with this? Everything is dead.” All the trees were burnt about three inches above the trunk. God told me that although the trees looked dead, the roots were alive. As God and I walked, I began to see the trees sprout green leaves. As I continued to walk, I preached the Word and the forest began to spring forth with life. As I continued, I looked back and every tree in the forest that had been burned was evergreen. The Lord touched my should and said, “This is what I have called you to! A “Ministry of Restoration”. There are many hurting saints that need a place to be restored and put back in the battle to win the lost for mine sake”. And He said, “You shall call this church The Upper Room (where it all began) Apostolic Church, A Ministry of Restoration”. Included in the vision is a day care for this community, which has been named “The Eagle’s Nest”. We will also provide housing for unwed mothers. This housing will also include training to help the mothers provide for themselves and their children. This is a Ministry not a church. This great work is going to take the effort of all that have been called to this ministry. We need everyone working together like the body of Christ was meant to operate. The bible states that God has given us all things that pertain to life and godliness. I believe that God has equipped and positions us for such a time as this. I know that this ministry is not for everyone but if God has put this small beginning in your spirit, let’s come together and do a work for the Lord.
