Christian Huemer studied art history at the University of Vienna, the Sorbonne in Paris, and at the Graduate Center, City University of New York. Specialized in 19th- and 20th-century art, his dissertation is on “Isolation and Exchange: The Art Market as a Medium of French-Austrian Cultural Transfers, 1873-1937”. After internships at the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum and the Museum of Modern Art in New York, he worked as a free-lance curator, educator and writer. Moreover, he taught art history classes at Hunter College in Manhattan and the American University of Paris. Fellowships at the International Research Centre for Cultural Studies in Vienna and at the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales in Paris broadened his background in visual anthropology and cultural theory.

Herwig Pöschl – Chairman, Founder and Managing Director of ICCM Herwig Pöschl is chair of ICCM, which he founded in 1989. In the same year he established one of the most prestigious International Arts Management programmes. With ICCM's Summer Academy he built up the most well-known professional training programme for Eastern and South-Eastern Europe as well as Central Asia. Between 1998 and 2002 he was president of the European Network of Cultural Administration Training Centres (ENCATC). He is founding member of the Fondazione Fitzcarraldo in Turin, Italy and permanent member at the editorial board of the International Journal of Arts Management, Toronto, Canada. Before establishing ICCM as a leading cultural project & research institute he designed and implemented the cultural development plan for the City of Salzburg from 1986 to 1990. In 1980 he founded a centre for cultural studies and realised many projects in cultural and economic development. He began his career in the arts as a percussionist for jazz and contemporary music and studied psychology, psychotherapy and communication sciences.
