Film music: an art without barriers “Film music is the music of all styles, all cultures, all lands… this capacity catches us especially, simply because its shows the immense power of music to cut across barriers on a creative and broadcasting level. In fact it is not rare to see the music of an American film written by a French composer, a TV series by a Polish musician, a Japanese film by a German composer. The same thing goes for the technical and logistical environment: Studios in Prague, Sofia, London, Nassau or Bratislava are parts of the creation of these works, and form a collection of mobile international production links. The Master Programme “Music for Film and Media” at the Danube University Krems will create an international Network of Excellence for Composers with a synthesis of composing, audio technology and efficient production management. Participants will acquire knowledge about applications of music for film, TV and interactive digital media, as well as for business audio and sound branding. The programme will develop new professional opportunities for the “Creation Generation“ who bring in empathy, passion and fantasy for new audiovisual dimensions.
