Es geht in der Ausstellung ebenso um die Nutzerinnen und Nutzer sowie um die Technik, und die Auswirkungen von Informations- und Kommunikationsnetzen. Zahlreiche Tastobjekte vom Wählscheibentelefon über Morsetaster bis zum Internetradio, das über einen WLAN-Anschluss Radiosender der ganzen Welt empfangen kann, zeigen, dass die Menschen nicht erst seit Erfindung des Internets miteinander verbunden sind. Welche Chancen bietet das Internet und vor welche Herausforderungen stellt es uns?
It is a human basic need to exchange information. The exhibition deals with users of communication technology as well as with the technology itself and the impact that information and communication networks have on us. Many tactile objects, like a dial plate telephone, a morse code apparatus or an Internet radio that can receive radio stations worldwide via WiFi, show that people have been connecting to one another via technology way before the Internet. What chances does the Internet offer to us and what are the challenges that we have to meet because of it?
