school News Scholarships Awarded to Class of 2022 Traditionally, late May and early June are times for celebrating at awards ceremonies and graduations in high schools across the country, and Blackstone Valley towns are no exception. Recently, in Uxbridge members of three scholarship committees were busy giving monetary awards to high school seniors at Uxbridge, Hopedale, and Blackstone Valley Tech. On June 1st Jane F. Keegan joined John Wise, Chair of the Uxbridge High School Scholarship Committee, who presented five (5) $1000 scholarships to these graduating seniors: Grace Boisvert, Maegan Morrissey, Cristian Oliveria, Keku Wheelock, and Zoe Jones. Other members of this committee are: Genie Stack, Kara Guy and Dr. Patrick Dillon. On June 2nd John Wise of the Virginia Blanchard Scholarship Committee was again joined by Jane F. Greenwald selected for Honor Band

Mrs. Keegan then presented this year’s recipient, Zophie Greenwald, with a crystal apple, engraved with her name, Class of 2022, “Supporting Teachers of Tomorrow”. She will attend Framingham State University. Other committee members include: Alexa Romasco, Chair, Cindy Bly and Brian Plasko.

Adelaide Greenwald
Adelaide Greenwald of Uxbridge has been accepted for membership with the 2022 John Philip Sousa National High School Honor Band. Acceptance in this honor band is considered to be an important musical achievement of national significance. Adelaide is a talented trumpeter and is the daughter of Jared Greenwald and Alexa Romasco.
A $1000 Uxbridge Town Scholarship was presented to Adam Pratt, a BVT graduate, by Committee Member John Wise at a June 13th meeting of the Board of Selectmen. The following are also members of this committee: Jane F. Keegan, Genie Stack, Arlene Liscinsky, and Dr. Patrick Dillon. Donations to any of Uxbridge’s three scholarship funds are welcome c/o Board of Selectmen at the Uxbridge Town Hall.
