Parking There have been some issues recently regarding the parking spots between Jazzercise and Dominos Pizza. The landlord is working to make sure the spots Dominos needs for its delivery drivers and customers are clearly labeled so that we know not to park in these spots at any time. (Delivery drivers come and go and need easy access.) Please look carefully and make sure you that if you park in the front or on the left side the building, that you are NOT parking in a spot labeled for Dominos or for Whitz Endz. Any other spot is available to us in the front, along the left side and in the parking lot of the Water Company. If you are parked in a spot labeled for Dominos or Whitz Endz you will be asked to move during class. Thank you for your cooperation as we try to be good neighbors.

Jazzercise Nicholasville: NORTH AFRICA BRANCH! Instructor Jenny Brown's Jazzercise classes are up and running in Tunisia North Africa! Amazing that our little center has stretched that far. The Browns are adjusting well and so far their region of North Africa has been fairly stable despite the instability around them. Please pray for peace in the region and continued safety for Jenny and her family. Jenny is teaching 3 Jazzercise classes a week at the community center they are helping to run. Each class is bigger than the one before and she says the language barrier just makes it more fun! Dance is a universal language! She thinks of us every time she teaches and misses us like crazy but is so grateful to still be able to bring people health and joy through Jazzercise!

Be sure to welcome Natalie Rupard, Ramona Lee, Chelsea Noble, Jessie Pohl, Dorothy, Pohl, Christine McAlister, Rachel Ashmore and Lindsey Russell when you see them in class. We are so happy they have joined us! • For your understanding and patience with the air conditioning unit being out last week. Think of all the extra calories we burned just by sweating more! You all are great!

CLUB JAZZERCISE • Congratulations to our newest 2012 Club Jazzercise Member: Michele Glenn!

In September I attended a meeting of the Jessamine County Business Women who hosted Dr. Gregory Cooper, M.D., Ph.D, a leading expert in Alzheimer's and Dementia and member of the Neurology Department at Central Baptist Hospital. It was an informal and informative discussion about the causes, treatments and most importantly ways to prevent cognitive impairment. Since there has been a number of recent articles about exercising, especially to music, and the prevention of Alzheimer's, I asked Dr. Cooper about this. He said that exercise of all kinds increases blood flow to the brain and keeps the arteries from restricting. When you add music and choreography, which engage different parts of the brain as well, you are upping the effectiveness of the cardio workout's effectiveness on the brain. Simply put, you use your brain more when perofrming intricate foot and arm work as opposed to walking or running. Keeping with the beat of the music also stimulates the brain. This leads doctors to believe that there likely is added benefit in the prevention of Alzheimer's and Dementia in a Jazzercise type workout. So next time you feel like you are not getting the steps in a more complicated routine right away, take a deep breath and remember that while you learn you are keeping your brain sharp as well as the rest of your body healthy.

150 classes this year gets you the white burn out tee and in the club picture displayed all year long! 3 months to get there!
