July - September 2024

July - September 2024
If you’ve got a curious streak like me, you’ll love to get stuck into a research project, uncovering wonderful nuggets of information and, if you’re lucky, a neverbefore-revealed secret!
So, unleash your inner sleuth at one of our family history workshops and start uncovering your family’s story.
Historian Alicia Cerreto will introduce you to online resources, provide tips and tricks and reveal techniques and formats for publishing your family history.
Our library author talks are always popular and I’m certain this winter will be no different.
Among others, we have critically acclaimed Claire Coleman, writer of fiction, essays, poetry and art criticism.
We are also thrilled to welcome Michelle See-Tho, winner of the 2023 Penguin Literary Prize.
And why not use the cooler months to reinvigorate your reading habit? The Warm Winter Read 2024 will help by tracking the days you read during June, July and August.
If all that winter reading isn’t helping you drift off at night, a Sleep Workshop might help.
Dr Prerna Varma, a Research Fellow at the Turner Institute, School of Psychological Sciences, Monash University, will explain the science behind sleep loss and sleep disorders. You will learn every-day strategies to improve the quality and quantity of your sleep.
As always, I could keep on scribbling but over to you now. Have a look through the booklet and choose something that motivates or excites.
There is so much going on in our libraries –and all events are FREE. Happy winter!
