This October, I warmly invite you to join us for the 2025 Kingston Seniors Festival – a month-long celebration built around this year’s theme Connect, Create and Celebrate.
Our older residents are the heart of Kingston — they help shape our neighbourhoods, share their knowledge and stories, and bring warmth, strength and wisdom to our community. The Seniors Festival is a chance to recognise and celebrate those contributions, while encouraging all older people to stay active, engaged and connected. This year’s festival is set to be great, with more than 100 free and low-cost events and activities on offer across our city.
Whether you’re keen to try a fitness class, attend an author talk, enjoy some live music, explore a nature walk, get crafty, or dive into games, fashion, movies or dancing – there truly is something for everyone.
We encourage you to explore what’s on offer, learn about local services, meet new people, and maybe even try something you’ve never done before.
Most importantly, it’s about connection. Reaching out, meeting others, and being part of a shared experience can do wonders for your health and wellbeing. Building social connections supports both mind and body – helping us live longer, feel better, and stay involved in the community we love.
This festival is a true collaboration between Council, our community centres, local groups and volunteers who all work together to make it such a success. My sincere thanks to everyone involved for your time, energy and care.
So take a moment to browse the program, find an activity that excites you, and come along to connect, create and celebrate.
We can’t wait to welcome you.
