It’s my pleasure to welcome you to the March/April edition of Kingston Libraries’ What’s On booklet.

This edition showcases the vibrant and diverse programs on offer, including the new Expert Series at Parkdale Library, where leading experts share insights on trending topics.

Our April School Holiday Program is packed with fun and creative activities for kids, while Cultural Diversity Week features a First Nations workshop on building respectful connections and an inspiring author talk with Daizy Maan, co-contributor to Growing Up Indian in Australia

Building Respectful Connections: Cultural Awareness with Jillian West

An Evening with Isobelle Carmody: Exploring Comes the Night

Known for her Obernewtyn Chronicles, Carmody began writing the series at just fourteen, launching her into the world of speculative fiction.

Her works, including The Gathering, Greylands, and The Legend of Little Fur, are award-winning and beloved by readers.

Her latest novel, Comes the Night, is set in a domed future Canberra, exploring themes of fear, societal control, and personal sacrifice. Don’t miss the chance to hear Isobelle discuss her writing process and the powerful themes in her work.

Writing workshop: creating compelling characters with Lee Kofman

Learn how to create compelling, well-rounded characters, by using dialogue to define characters and reveal relationships.

The Australian Ballet - Seniors Ballet Class
