Principal’s Message
And that is the end of the Spring Term and a reminder that we return on Tuesday 22 April (Week B timetable) nd
We have had an exciting week to mark the end of term 2; Year 11 badminton tournament, where unfortunately the dream team of Ridwaan and myself couldn’t overcome what felt like at times questionable refereeing. In truth, Ridwaan very much carried me through our matches and I probably need to address my poor hand-eye coordination Well done to everyone who took part, turned up to support and the PE staff for enabling the event to take place 1 , 2 and 3 places are detailed below st nd rd
On Wednesday we welcomed Year 8 parents and carers into the building for our consultation event which was incredibly well attended and further strengthened the key school - home relationship which enables our children to achieve so well.
On Thursday and today our Royal Marine CCF (combined cadet force) contingent took part in the Commando Joe’s programme alongside cadets from Kings Leadership Academy Hawthornes. Ms Mackintosh our Personal Development Officer said “By working together, we are nurturing friendships across the trust, by bringing cadets together who may not ordinarily meet unless they joined the CCF. These connections not only strengthen the cadets’ bonds but also build bridges that are uniting communities within our trust. ”
Today as part of our ongoing ‘secret Friday thank you’ approach to rewarding the many children who turn up each day ready to learn, work hard and behave with impeccable ASPIRE values children were rewarded with an ice cream treat. Its secret because they only find out on the day and its something nice for us as adults to reinforce in your child that all the incredibly thoughtful things they do each day are seen.
And finally, for those celebrating over the break we wish you a Happy Easter on Sunday 20 April which also marks the fasting of Lent.
