“There is always a win-win. You just have to find it,” says REALTOR® Charlene Rosenblatt with Rosenblatt Residential with Coldwell Banker Realty. “It’s all about helping to find the right solution for everyone,” she adds.
Confidently approaching clients and helping them make decisions is what Charlene does best. She also doesn’t get distracted moving deals to the closing table. “Some people become swayed by pretty objects, but you have to be the realist,” she points out.
A natural problem solver, Charlene tackles challenges with grit and grace. Her only regret with real estate? “I wish I would have started earlier,” she candidly comments. Her solid work ethic, which is evident in her career, can be traced to her childhood days growing up on a farm in Nebraska.
Growing up in Nebraska, Charlene got up at 6:00 a.m. each day, fed the cattle, and did her farm chores diligently. During the brutal temperatures in the winter months, she would make the quarter-mile hike to make sure the
ice was broken off the water so the cattle could drink. “It didn’t matter how bad the weather was,” she comments. Work had to be done, even during severe snowstorms.
“If a rogue calf was born in a spring snowstorm, my siblings and I would find it, carry it back, bottle feed it, and return it to its mother,” explains Charene. If the mother rejected the calf, she and her family would bottle feed it.
Taking care of the animals wasn’t the only task that Charlene had. She has a solid working knowledge of the farm. “I have a pretty good understanding of rural living with wells, septic tanks, and irrigation. That’s a core part of my upbringing,” says Charlene, who has known how to drive since the age of 10.
Fast forward to today, Charlene isn’t afraid of much. “I’m not afraid to crawl into dark and damp crawl spaces,” she points out.
“I also enjoy analyzing real estate investments, which can feel just as scary.” She has a wealth of knowledge about properties because of her rural roots. Interestingly, she also has a competitive drive, dating to her high school and college days, that has shaped her character into who she is today.
A runner in high school, Charlene has fond memories of running before attending school at the University of Nebraska. That’s where she rowed crew in col-lege and also studied political science for three years.“I had no money to go to law school,” she says. Instead, she switched her major to engineering with a focus on construction management. After graduation, she landed an incredible job at a construction company, including the oppor-tunity to work overseas.
“I lived and worked in Dallas, New York City, London, and Chicago before coming to Boulder,” says Charlene. For a total of 12 years, she moved from project to project before coming to Boulder with Level 3 Communications.
“I got involved with real estate investments at that time and did some home remodeling. I just decided it would make sense to get my real estate license,” she shares. Charlene earned her license in 2016 and hasn’t looked back since.
Charlene loves what she does and it shows with her enthusiasm. She comments, “I really enjoy helping people achieve their goals and look out for things that could cause issues in homeownership.” Being a facilitator and project manager comes easily to Charlene, who likes helping people stay on task.
“I work with a lot of people who are trying to downsize and look for the next phase of their life,” she says. “I also work with others who are looking for their first home.”
A hard worker, Charlene goes above and beyond for her clients, which is why she has many repeat clients. “I’m going to have my clients’ back,” she shares.
When not working, it’s all about family to Charlene, who is married to her husband Mo. She has three children of her own and three stepchildren, who have all been raised in Boulder. “All have graduated college and are now off in the world, which is exciting,” she says with pride.
To relax and unwind, Charlene likes to hike, bike, ski, and take leisurely road trips. She jokes, “I initially wanted to be a truck driver as a child. I thought it would be one of the coolest jobs to drive all over the country.” Now she simply likes taking road trips, stopping in small towns and places off the beaten path, regardless of the season.
“My favorite saying is there is no bad weather, only a bad outfit,” she comments.
Still, there is no place like home for Charlene, who enjoys the constant companionship of her cat named Kitty. “She’s a really amazing cat and helps me work all day long,” she smiles. “I try to get her to do Instagram for me, but she is terrible at it,” she laughs. Her clients stay tuned to her Instagram, hoping to see some action from her cat. “I wish Kitty had more talent, but she’s just good at being a cat.”
Charlene also has a heart for serving others. She sits on the board of STARS (Steamboat Adaptive Recreational Sports), which is her way of helping others discover the joy of sports. A skier and a snowboarder, Charlene knows the impact sports can have on a person’s life. Helping people with disabilities find acceptance and build confidence through downhill skiing, hiking, cycling, and more is important to her.
Charlene is living her best life here in Boulder. “There’s so many opportunities in Colorado for people raising
children to have a wonderful life,” she says. “I love being a Mom and I loved raising my kids in Boulder.” Now she is helping other families discover the joy of Boulder and all it has to offer.
From growing up on a farm in Nebraska to entering a new field in real estate, Charlene is an inspiration to others. With enough passion, persistence, and perseverance, anything is possible. Charlene’s only regret is that she didn’t discover real estate sooner.
